Ingredients:

For the Sauce:

o 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

o 2 tablespoons oyster sauce

o 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

o 1 tablespoon brown sugar

o 1 teaspoon sesame oil

o 1 teaspoon cornstarch

o 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

For the Stir-Fry:

o 8 ounces flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

o 8 ounces wide rice noodles or lo mein noodles

o 3 cups broccoli florets

o 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

o 3 cloves garlic, minced

o 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

o 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)

o 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

o Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Sauce:

o In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and crushed red pepper flakes until smooth. Set aside.

2. Cook the Noodles and Broccoli:

o Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente.

o In the last 2 minutes of the noodle cooking time, add the broccoli florets to the pot.

o Drain the noodles and broccoli together and set aside.

3. Stir-Fry the Beef:

o Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

o Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until browned and just cooked through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

4. Sauté Aromatics and Vegetables:

o In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil.

o Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced mushrooms (if using). Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

5. Combine Ingredients:

o Return the cooked beef to the skillet.

o Add the drained noodles and broccoli.

o Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture.

o Toss everything together until the sauce evenly coats the noodles, beef, and broccoli. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until heated through.

6. Serve:

o Transfer to serving plates.

o Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

o Serve immediately.

Additional Tips:

• Beef Selection: Flank steak is recommended for its tenderness, but sirloin or skirt steak can also be used.

• Noodle Options: Wide rice noodles or lo mein noodles work well. Ensure they are cooked al dente to prevent them from becoming mushy during stir-frying.

• Vegetable Variations: Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers, snap peas, or carrots for added color and nutrition.

• Spice Level: Adjust the amount of crushed red pepper flakes to suit your heat preference.

Enjoy your homemade Beef and Broccoli Noodles!
