I felt like making a potato-based snack I haven’t made in a while. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I decided to trust the process and share the results here regardless. This is one of those simple, homestyle recipes made with ingredients I already had on hand, it was crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and I served it with a quick pepper sauce to balance it out.

So below I'll list all the ingredients I used

Ingredients

For this recipe I used:

  • 2 medium size Potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Non diary milk
  • 1 cup of Flour
  • 1 cooking spoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of oat
  • 1 medium size onions
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 2 tomatoes

To begin, I peeled the potatoes and put them to boil

While it was boiling, I chopped the onions and potatoes and set them aside

I then pound them in a mortar to make a paste.

Next I sieved the flour into a bowl

I then added the non-diary milk to it.

I then add the pepper to it, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, and mix properly

Next I checked if the potatoes were soft and I got them out

Next I started to mash them

I then added the pepper and onions paste to it.

Next was the flour mixture, and then I mixed everything properly to form a soft dough

Next I started molding them in my hands and coating them in the oats.

Then I put the oil to heat and started frying them till golden brown

While at it, I put some blended onions and pepper and added sliced pumpkin leaves it it and then heat it on fire, adding a little vegetable oil, to make a sauce for the snack.

Next I fried the rest of the potatoes and it was ready!

The result of the snack wasn’t exactly perfect, I think it needed more flour, it was too soft for what I expected, but it was tasty, filling, and satisfying to make. I love experimenting in the kitchen, and even when things don’t come out exactly as planned, there’s always something to learn. This snack can definitely be a good side or just something to enjoy with friends and family. Next time, I might tweak the seasoning or add something crunchy inside, but for now, it’s a win and I'm happy I tried it.

Thank you all for your time!
