Making "secang tea" traditional herbal tea from secang wood

That is why we need to maintain the body's immune system using herbal ingredients from traditional recipes that have been passed down from our ancestors in ancient times.
Today I made herbal tea using the main ingredient Secang Wood. This secang wood has many benefits for skin and body health because it contains antioxidants. Apart from that, secang wood can also help reduce fever, overcome inflammation and pain, it can also help control blood sugar, this is very suitable to drink for diabetes sufferers and secang tea is very good if consumed when coughing or cold.
It is said that in history this secang tea was usually drunk by Kings since the time of the Majapahit kingdom. So this tea has been known for a long time as a herbal tea which is believed to have many benefits.
On this occasion I tried to make secang tea at home using ingredients that are very easy to find so it is very easy to make it. Let's look at the ingredients and how to make it together.
Ingredients
5 grams of secang wood
2 cm cinnamon
1 tea bag
A thumb of red ginger
1 stalk of lemongrass
45 grams of rock sugar (you can use granulated sugar, the amount can be increased or reduced according to taste)
700 ml water
How to make
• First we need to burn the red ginger which has been washed clean, burn it until it gives off a fragrant aroma, I burned it directly on the stove fire.
• Heat water in a saucepan, wait until the water foams, then add lemongrass, cinnamon, secang wood and rock sugar. Cook until it boils using only low heat.
• After cooking for approximately 7 minutes, turn off the heat then add the tea bag and let it sit until it's lukewarm.
• Secang tea is ready to be enjoyed when warm. If it is not sweet enough, you can add rock sugar or granulated sugar according to taste.
It's a herbal tea that we call "Secang Tea." It's easy to make, the ingredients are very easy to find. Here I use rock sugar. I think rock sugar is very suitable for making traditional drinks like this.
Apart from that, rock sugar is also believed to have the property of lowering blood sugar levels or treating coughs if consumed correctly and not excessively. There are 2 types of rock sugar, there are white ones and yellow ones like the one I use. Usually the yellow ones like this are pure rock sugar that has not gone through the bleaching process. But what we need to pay attention to is that sometimes this rock sugar is still not clean or has grains of sand or threads. mold so it is important for us to choose quality rock sugar and pay attention to its cleanliness.
