Ingredients
๐ฆ 15-20 medium-sized prawns, cleaned and deveined, with half the tail left on
๐ 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
๐ง 1 teaspoon salt
๐ Juice of 1 lime
๐ฟ 2-3 teaspoons dark soy sauce
๐ฟ 2-3 teaspoons light soy sauce

2-3 teaspoons tomato sauce
๐ถ๏ธ 1/2 teaspoon chili powder for marination
๐ถ๏ธ 2 teaspoons chili powder for seasoning
๐ถ๏ธ 1/2-1 teaspoon ground black pepper
๐ฐ 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil

1-2 medium-sized onions, thinly sliced
๐ง 4-5 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
๐ถ๏ธ 1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
๐ถ๏ธ 1/2 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 medium-sized tomato, cut into wedges
๐ 1 teaspoon vinegar
๐ถ๏ธ 1 teaspoon chili paste (from ground dry chilies)
๐ 1 cup chicken stock (measured with a Pyrex measuring jug)
๐พ 1.5 teaspoons cornflour (cornstarch)
๐ฌ 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
1- Marinate Prawns:
- Clean and devein prawns, leaving half the tail on.
- Marinate with turmeric powder, salt, lime juice, and chili powder for 30 minutes.
- Rinse under cold water and pat dry.
2- Second Marination:
- Mix prawns with dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, tomato sauce, additional turmeric, salt, pepper, and chili powder.
- Let them sit while preparing other ingredients.
3- Sautรฉ Aromatics:
- Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan on a "Clara" induction cooktop.
- Add onions and garlic, sautรฉing until soft and translucent, around 3-4 minutes.
- Add a pinch of salt for quicker cooking.
4- Stir-fry Peppers:
- Add red and yellow bell peppers to the pan.
- Sautรฉ for another 2 minutes until they begin to soften.
5- Cook Prawns:
- Add the marinated prawns into the pan.
- Stir-fry until prawns start to turn orange, approximately 2-3 minutes.
6- Incorporate Tomatoes & Sauces:
- Add mixed tomato wedges, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, and tomato sauce.
- Stir in vinegar.
7- Add Spices & Chili Paste:
- Sprinkle remaining chili powder and ground pepper.
- Add chili paste. Combine all ingredients thoroughly.
8- Thicken Sauce:
- In a bowl, dissolve cornflour in chicken stock using a "Pyrex" jug.
- Pour the mixture into the pan and mix well.
9- Sweeten & Finish:
- Stir in sugar. Cook until sauce thickens to a glossy consistency, and prawns are fully cookedโapproximately 3 minutes more.
10- Serve:
- Transfer hot Devilled Prawns Curry to a large white shell-shaped serving platter.
