Good day to all my dear friends! How are you all doing?

Ash plantains, known for their mild flavor and tender texture, are a versatile vegetable widely used in many Sri Lankan dishes. When fried, these humble plantains take on a whole new delicious taste — crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This simple recipe transforms an everyday ingredient into a mouthwatering snack or side dish that’s perfect for both lunch and tea time. With just a few basic spices and a little frying, you can truly bring out the natural flavor and aroma of these lovely plantains.
So, let’s see how to prepare it step by step!

Materials Used.

Ash plantain 150g.
Salt to taste.
finely chopped onions.
curry leaves.
About 2 chopped green chilli pods.
1 Teaspoon of crushed chili powder.
1/2 Teaspoon of turmeric powder.
Coconut oil for frying.

The cooking process as follows.

Now let’s get ready to prepare this dish. First, peel the ash plantains and cut them into small cube-shaped pieces.

Next, add turmeric powder and salt to the chopped ash plantain pieces and mix them well until evenly coated.

Next, place a pan on the stove and add some coconut oil. Once the oil is heated, fry the ash plantain pieces until they turn golden brown.

Next, place a pan on the stove and add about two tablespoons of coconut oil. Then add dried chilies, green chilies, curry leaves, and chopped onions. Mix everything well and allow it to sauté for a while until the onions turn slightly golden and fragrant.

Next, add the fried ash plantain pieces to the pan and mix everything well, allowing it to cook together for about 2 minutes. Finally, remove it from the stove and set aside.
