What do humans want with creatures? - Past timeline Holozing Fan-lore

Hello Holotrainers!
I've been a bit absent lately, I apologize. I have things to do at work, and this year has started a bit slowly due to some things that are happening, but I've had time to write for Holozing, or at least a small part that I want to add to the lore as soon as possible.
And it's about the humans' objective with the creatures. In some posts, I give a somewhat basic explanation of what humans sought first in the past and then in the future. These are two different needs, so let's break down what I mean a little, and I want to start like this:
Since humankind learned to tell stories, there has always been a constant that repeats itself again and again: the desire to tame that which is stronger than them. Not to destroy it, not to run from it, but to understand it, control it, and use it. In the Holozing universe, that impulse doesn't change; it only evolves and becomes more dangerous.
When the creatures existed and were real
In the past timeline, the creatures weren't holograms or data; they were a physical presence. They walked, breathed, attacked, and defended territory. They were forces of nature with form and will. And when humans discovered them, they didn't see them as gods or demons, but as an opportunity.

The first driving force is fear. Nothing pushes civilization faster than the fear of being defenseless. If a creature can raze a village, then learning to control it becomes a matter of survival. Taming them doesn't arise as an ambition, but as a necessity. Those who manage to understand a creature live; those who don't die.
Then the second impulse appears: power. When some humans discover that they can not only avoid harm but also use the creatures to their advantage, the balance is broken. A tamed creature is a military advantage, a hunting tool, a status symbol. It's no longer about coexistence, but about escalation.
Over time, romanticism arrives (probably my favorite part to explore). Bonds are created: trainers, guardians, lineages. The creatures cease to be mere weapons and become companions, symbols of cultural identity. But this romanticism is deceptive because underneath, the same logic still exists: dominate so as not to be dominated.

And that's where the wear and tear begins. Overexploitation, wars, indiscriminate capture, experimentation. Humanity doesn't know when to stop when something works. If a powerful creature guarantees victory, then they seek even stronger creatures, even if the ecosystem is destroyed, even if the price is irreversible.
The result is inevitable: extinction, collapse, disappearance. Not because the creatures were weak, but because the human system is voracious.
And so we enter the timeline of the future, little by little we are learning the true objective of humans with the now-called holocreatures.

This explanation is a bit of a spoiler, but I hope those who are following the main story don't stumble upon these posts, lol. That's all for now. My writing routine is in shambles, and I can only manage to write a few words before falling asleep from all the work. But thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you here again next time.
