In this case, as far as the **Isekai** demographic is concerned, this season was heavily loaded with works of this style, with the occasional variation. It is common to see so many **Isekai** anime completely monopolizing the industry with so many airings every season. However, despite how highly popular and commercial this genre or demographic is in the industry, the sheer number of stories cause quality and originality to be harder and harder to come by. This is why I bring you each season of the year a "***Top 5***" or "***Top 7***" **Isekai** anime to give you the ease of being able to choose which one to watch. This time I will present you five anime that I considered worthy of talking about here, at least a little more decent than one or two others out there. I also left out the second part of the third season of **Re:Zero**, which needs no introduction to know -and even more so now with the success it is having in broadcasting- that it is the best of all the **Isekai** anime that currently exist. Honestly, I consider it worth taking a look at this personal list I have made with one or two other recommendations suitable for all lovers of the fantasy genre and medieval worlds with heroes and adventures. Keep in mind that, as I have always told you, what you will read is only my personal opinion, as are the ratings and the descending order you will see below. >! También dejé de lado la segunda parte de la tercera temporada de **Re:Zero**, la cual no hace falta presentación para saber -y más ahora con el éxito que está teniendo en emisión- que es el mejor de todos los animes **Isekai** que existen actualmente. Sinceramente, considero que vale la pena echarle un vistazo a esta lista personal que he hecho con una que otra recomendación adecuada para todos los amantes del género de fantasía y los mundos medievales con héroes y aventuras. Not to mention its typical animation, lacking fluidity and originality. Based on the eponymous light novel series written by **Kogitsunemaru** and illustrated by **Hitogome**, this animated adaptation was produced by [**Studio Comet**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studio_Comet). The story is about an ordinary man named **Takumi Iruma** who is accidentally chosen from a small group of heroes who have been summoned from a medieval, fantastical world. As compensation, a goddess appears to offer him any ability he desires and gives him the chance to live a peaceful life (apparently) with a new body. As I said above, this is yet another generic anime in the vast world of **Isekai** demographics. And by "*generic*" I mean the typical story of the protagonist chosen (either by mistake or for some other reason that is never explained to us well at the beginning) to be sent to a medieval and fantastic world as its hero with gifted powers or "*abilities*" that, practically, makes him someone invincible against enemies and monsters of all kinds. With this also comes the typical "*harem*" that the protagonist always gets in any fantasy anime, plus the typical villains with little development and originality and the frequent exaggerated adulation of everyone towards the main character who miraculously always gets his way. While, unlike most, in this anime we see a main character trying to live a quiet life creating things that are in his world with "*alchemy*" (but not the same alchemy of **Fullmetal Alchemist**, obviously) and magic; this does not detract from the fact that over time and the things he does in this place makes him the hero of this story. So no matter how much they try to pretend to be a different story, it's still the same as always. In terms of production, the animation quality it offers us is just as generic as its plot and characters. With generally static shots, little fluidity and simple visual effects; it is evident that this anime has gone unnoticed this season because of how common it is with most current **Isekai** anime. > #### *Personally, I give it a 5.5/10 rating as far as Isekai genre/demography is concerned.* >! Con esto se suma también el típico “*harem*” que el protagonista siempre consigue en cualquier anime de fantasía, además de los típicos villanos con escaso desarrollo y originalidad y la exagerada adulación frecuente de todo el mundo hacia el personaje principal que milagrosamente siempre se sale con la suya. > > Si bien, a diferencia de la mayoría, en este anime vemos a un personaje principal intentando vivir una vida tranquila creando cosas que hay en su mundo con “*alquimia*” (pero no la misma alquimia de **Fullmetal Alchemist**, obviamente) y magia; esto no quita que con el tiempo y las cosas que haga en este lugar lo convierte en en el héroe de esta historia. Así que por mucho que intenten aparentar ser una historia diferente, sigue siendo lo mismo de siempre. En cuanto a producción, la calidad de animación que nos ofrece es igual de genérica que su misma trama y personajes. Let's talk now about an **Isekai** anime that, unlike the previous one, this one does offer a somewhat different story with a protagonist that is quite far from the typical hero summoned from the other world. For an anime with a different premise and story than most, it must be admitted that its lack of popularity and animation leaves much to be desired. Based on the eponymous manga series written by **Beginashira** and illustrated by **Muramitsu**, this anime adaptation was produced by [**Geek Toys**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geek_Toys) studio and **CompTown**. The story revolves around **Uchimura Dennosuke**, a simple hired man who was run over and dies (as always happens in these anime) and then is summoned to another world by the great **Demon King**. The latter congratulates him for the great work he has done in his world, despite the fact that everyone has held him in very low esteem, and as a reward offers him a job as one of the "***Four Heavenly Kings***". While it is true that it is common to see that almost all the protagonists of **Isekai** anime are people who have had an unfortunate life, are salaried or die in a pathetic way; it is not very often to see the protagonist living in a medieval and fantastic world as a normal person, without gifted powers or special abilities. And this is the case of **Uchimura Dennosuke**, who even in this fantasy world and together with the powerful **Demon King**, works as his subordinate using only his experience and knowledge as a clerk and salaryman. It is interesting to see a plot that revolves more around a clerk solving governmental, social and political cases in a world where humans, semi-humans and demons are in the middle of a war. This, surprisingly to many, gives this work a unique touch making it different from most **Isekai** anime out there today. On the other hand, while it has its strengths in terms of story and authentic character development, it fails badly when it comes to production. With two studios in charge, it seems that they failed to achieve a good atmosphere and fluidity in terms of animation. Like the previous one, this work lacks originality in terms of animation, with generally static shots and poor fluidity. But worst of all is the soundtrack, which always seems to be a concert of independent drummers. Sounds and melodies out of atmosphere and with a volume that sometimes make the voices of the characters remain in the background. This may not be a big deal for many, but for me the quality of production and animation is as important as good story and character construction in a work, and even more so if it is of a genre as popular as this one. > #### *Personally, I give it a 6.5/10 rating as far as Isekai genre/demography is concerned.* >! Para ser un anime con una premisa e historia diferentes a la mayoría, hay que admitir que su poca popularidad y su animación deja mucho que desear. Basada en la homónima serie de manga escrita por **Beginashira** e ilustrada por **Muramitsu**, esta adaptación animada fue producida por el estudio **Geek Toys** y **CompTown**. Este lo felicita por el grandioso trabajo que ha realizado en su mundo, a pesar de que todos le hayan tenido muy poca estima, y como recompensa le ofrece trabajo como uno de los “***Cuatro Reyes Celestiales***”. > > Si bien es cierto que es común ver que casi todos los protagonistas de animes **Isekai** son personas que han tenido una vida desafortunada, son asalariados o mueren de una forma patética; no es muy seguido ver al protagonista vivir en un mundo medieval y fantástico como una persona normal, sin poderes regalados ni habilidades especiales. Y este es el caso del **Uchimura Dennosuke**, el cual aún en este mundo fantástico y junto con el poderoso Rey Demonio, trabaja como su subordinado usando solamente su experiencia y conocimientos como oficinista y asalariado. Es interesante ver una trama que gira más en torno a un oficinista resolviendo casos gubernamentales, sociales y políticos en un mundo donde los humanos, los semihumanos y los demonios están en medio de una guerra. Esto, sorprendentemente para muchos, le da un toque único a esta obra haciéndola diferente a la mayoría de animes **Isekai** que existen en la actualidad. > > En cambio, si bien tiene sus puntos fuertes en cuanto a la historia y desarrollo de personajes auténticos, falla mucho en lo que respecta a producción. Con dos estudios a cargo, parece que no lograron conseguir una buena ambientación y fluidez en lo que respecta a animación. Al igual que el anterior, esta obra carece de originalidad en cuanto a animación, con planos generalmente estáticos y escasa fluidez. Pero lo peor de todo es la banda sonora, la cual parece que fuera siempre un concierto de bateristas independientes. Sonidos y melodías fuera de ambiente y con un volumen que a veces hacen que las voces de los personajes queden en segundo plano. While it's true that there are **Isekais** of almost every type, this is the first time I've seen a story with a **Sentai/Red Ranger** as the main character. Based on the manga series of the same name, written and illustrated by **Koyoshi Nakayoshi**, this animated adaptation is produced by [**Statelight**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satelight) studio. The story revolves around **Tōgo Asagaki**, leader of the **Super Sentai**-like hero group, who has the ability to become **Kizuna Red**. Tōgo is sent to a fantastic, medieval world, right after defeating the leader of an evil supervillain organization. Now, he searches for a way to return to his world while becoming an adventurer and accompanying **Idola Avon**, a young sorceress who seeks to restore her family's honor. For not being a fan of the **Super Sentai** (or **Power Rangers**, as I know them), I must admit that this mix of genres and different worlds is curious to say the least and even more so in an **Isekai** anime. The clear references to the popular superhero saga, with the typical transformations, costumes, choreographies and poses, equipment and even mechas is the most frequent in this series. The same goes for that ironic and recurring humor directed at the main character and the unknown source of his power. While it can become a bit generic and absurd in many ways, this anime manages to break away from the routine of the **Isekais** with a superhero as the main character and a plot that wraps itself in battles after battles in a medieval and fantastic world. On the other hand, its animation may not be the best in the world, but it has a level of quality somewhat better than the aforementioned works, although with a frequent use of CGI, but only in equipment or mechas. Otherwise, it has very good combat scenes, a nice fluidity and a good soundtrack. > #### *Personally, I give it a rating of 7.5/10 as far as Isekai genre/demography is concerned.* >! Si bien puede llegar a ser un poco genérico y absurdo en muchos sentidos, este anime logra romper con la rutina de los **Isekais** con un superhéroe como protagonista y una trama que se envuelve en batallas tras batallas en un mundo medieval y fantástico. Por otro lado, su animación puede que no sea de lo mejor del mundo, pero posee un nivel de calidad un tanto mejor que las obras anteriormente mencionadas, aunque con un uso frecuente de CGI, pero solo en equipos o mechas. Let's talk now about an anime very different from what we have presented so far. A series that is one of those examples of the classic phrase "*nothing is what it appears to be*". With a plot and character so atypical within a variation of the same **Isekai** demographic, this anime presents us with a version full of humor, references to **Otaku** culture and moments that are most entertaining. Based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by **Michiro Ueyama**, this anime adaptation was produced by [**Ajia-do Animation Works**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajiado). The anime tells the story of an elderly office worker named **Kenzaburō Tondabayashi**, who is run over by a truck on his way home one day. However, he later wakes up as **Grace Auvergne**, the daughter of a grand duke and villain of an Otome video game that is curiously his daughter's favorite. Yes, it is one of the strangest and most absurd plots or anime I have met to date. Although it may not seem like it, it is common to see this kind of plots in **Isekai** anime, more so in **Reverse Isekais** which are a small variation of this demographic, which is also becoming very popular nowadays in the industry. But despite the appearances this anime may have, it is one of the most peaceful and entertaining anime I've seen this season, hands down. Despite being an older gentleman reborn in the body of a young girl from a noble family, the role he plays in this story is most entertaining, with funny dialogues and unexpected development between the protagonist and his supporting characters. But the most interesting thing is that the series itself manages to break its own wall by watching the POV of the protagonist's daughter and wife, who are watching everything that happens in this fantastic world on an LED screen as if it were a video game. On the other hand, there are also the tastes or preferences of the characters, mostly of the protagonist's family, who ironically all three are **Otaku**. It is here where the dynamism of the plot with the development of the video game and the characters are unraveling in a new and unexpected "*route*". Of course, the lack of action, adventures and fanservice is something normal in this anime being from an **Otome** video game where it focuses more on the development and experiences lived by the main character and his companions. Finally, the animation it has is something that gives it a very big extra plus. Surprisingly, I can say that it is one of the anime with the best quality -until this post-, either for its design and style of drawing and characters, its fluidity and good use of visual effects, and even for its so catchy and emotional soundtrack it has. By the way, both its **Opening** and **Ending** is one of my favorites of this season. > #### *Personally, I give it a rating of 8/10 as far as Isekai genre/demography is concerned.* >! The anime introduces us to **Hirose Natsuko**, who is known worldwide for being one of the best animators of her generation, as well as a director. Her first and biggest success brings her to fame, although her next bet is more difficult than she expects, being a typical romantic comedy (what a lot of references to the reality of this industry we see here). One day, in her studio, Natsuko collapses to the ground after getting intoxicated with her lunch and dies, but not before waking up in the middle of a huge desert with a monster in front of her. It is here where her hero and protagonist of her favorite movie, "***The Condemned Story***", appears to save her life. Yes, many will say that for appearing to be a run-of-the-mill Isekai anime, it has an interesting premise. Well, that's what anyone might think until shortly after they realize that our protagonist can use her cheerleading skills to save this world doomed by eternal darkness. As I mentioned, it has everything that an **Isekai** anime in essence possesses. But what makes this anime the best of this top is not its interesting premise, but the way they develop its story and characters, which are somewhat peculiar, especially the protagonist. Leaving aside **Hirose Natsuko**, we see a world that, according to the original work in which it was created, is doomed to one of the most terrible and heartbreaking endings in existence.
