Cada jueves, siento alegría cuando me doy cuenta de que me toca escribir para esta columna, creada para todos ustedes con mucho cariño. Recuerdo que comencé a frecuentar esta cálida comunidad, en búsqueda de iniciativas que me inspiraran a generar contenido con el que me sintiera identificada y siempre encontraba opciones que me salvaban el día, porque está de más decir, que hay columnistas geniales aquí. No imaginé ser parte de ese motor de ideas para escribir, ha sido una gran experiencia y me siento agradecida por eso. Y dejando ya de un lado estos pensamientos que vinieron a mi mente hoy, se me ocurre hacer algo divertido en esta ocasión. ¡Comencemos!

A ver qué tal me sale este experimento, la idea que tengo es buscar la fotografía #**23** en mi galería, puesto que mi cumpleaños es un **23**, y entonces contar lo que se me ocurra referente a esa imagen. Les cuento que mientras escribo estas líneas, estoy pensando qué encontraré, porque no fue algo planeado... En todo caso me resulta algo emocionante. Ahora sí, a continuación colocaré la fotografía #23 en la galería de la cámara de mi teléfono.

Y esta historia se llamará... ## Comenzando de nuevo. Hay ocasiones en las que es mejor rendirse, más que todo cuando intentamos cambiar a alguien o algo que no depende de nosotros, más cuando estamos dejando en eso toda nuestra energía. Pero otras otras en las que nunca debemos desfallecer: ¡Cuando se trata de nuestro bienestar! Comer saludable y hacer alguna actividad física, han sido prácticas oscilantes en mi vida. Con sus altos y bajos, comienzos y finales. Pero este hermoso mes de julio, comencé nuevamente a mejorar mis hábitos alimenticios y, hace una semana, me animé a caminar. Me resulta particularmente desafiante salir de la inercia y ponerme en movimiento, lo que es igual a salir de la rutina y esa mal llamada "zona de confort." Aunque es algo que me exige mucha voluntad, luego de hacer ese salto de fe, me siento satisfecha, mucho mejor de lo que me sentiría, por no intentarlo. Aunque "**comenzar de nuevo**" a veces pueda sonar a reincidencia, visto desde una perspectiva optimista es más bien perseverancia, voluntad y no rendirse.

But there are other times when we should never give up: when it comes to our well-being! Eating healthy and doing some physical activity have been oscillating practices in my life. With their ups and downs, beginnings and endings. But this beautiful month of July, I started again to improve my eating habits and, a week ago, I took up walking. I find it particularly challenging to get out of inertia and get moving, which is the same as getting out of the routine and that misnamed "comfort zone." Although it is something that demands a lot of willpower from me, after taking that leap of faith, I feel satisfied, much better than I would feel, for not trying. Although "**starting over**" may sometimes sound like backsliding, seen from an optimistic perspective it is more like perseverance, willpower and not giving up.

Como se puede ver en la imagen satelital anterior, cortesía de la aplicación Running, estuve dando pasos durante 43 minutos y completé una distancia de 3.57 Km. Tengo la oportunidad de caminar cuando llevo a mi hija a sus clases de natación, así que ni siquiera debo hacer malabares en mi agenda, es sólo que antes de salir de vacaciones tuve tanto trabajo, que yo dejaba a mi hija en la piscina y me devolvía a la oficina a seguir con mis tareas pendientes. Recuerdo que el día de esa fotografía, yo había comenzado a caminar con otras mamis de atletas (normalmente lo hago sola, escuchando música), pero se me desamarraron las trenzas de los zapatos y tuve que detenerme a atarlas. Ya luego me costó como unos 15 minutos volver al grupo, porque ellas van muy rápido y yo estoy fuera de forma. Fue en ese entonces que tuve la ocasión de tomar esa foto, que normalmente no hubiera usado en una publicación, porque tengo la mirada perdida, supongo que la tomé fuera de tiempo. También tengo la memoria de que por un momento pensé en continuar sola, a mi paso, pero luego razoné que era mejor para mí unirme a la manada para mejorar mi velocidad y, de hecho, así fue, avancé mucho más rápido que cuando estoy sola. **Los desafíos son parte de nuestro crecimiento, no debemos temerles, más bien hay que aceptarlos y abrazarlos.**
