It is a well known fact that the human body is made up of many organs and glands which come together to form diverse systems. There is the nervous system, endocrine system, integumentary system, respiratory system, and the list goes on and on. All these systems are important to sustain the body. Each have different functions, ranging from digestion to excretion and even respiration. If one organ or gland in a system is caught lagging, then there is a problem that needs attention. If left unattended, the results may be catastrophic to the entire body. Did you know that we all have a pair of beans inside of us? Situated in the posterior abdominal walls, below the diaphragm, one on each side of the vertebral column, the kidneys play a lot of role to ensure that the body is healthily sustained. It is a well known fact that the kidney is one of the most vital organs of the body as they aid in the excretion of diverse type of wastes. Not only that, it also produces and secrets one important hormone, erythropoietin, essential for the stimulation of red blood cell production. One fact is that the major function of each kidney is to form urine and with the aid of other organs, excrete urine from the body. This is the major reason why taking enough water, reducing alcohol intake, stopping self medication and drug abuse and taking note of kidney health is essential. During the time when I was in Federal Medical center Umuahia, Abia state, I noticed that the amount of people suffering from acute/chronic kidney disease is on the high side. Every time, the kidney dialysis center is filled with patients who are waiting for their turn to undergo dialysis. Recently, I watched a video of a doctor who talked about her patient. She talked about how the patient unknowingly damaged her kidney with the use of skincare. The skincare she used has a high dose of vitamin C which is not good for the kidneys. She narrated how the patient had a failing kidney but everything they tried was not working because the patient kept on using the skincare. There were a lot of effort to save the patients kidneys, but to no avail. It got to a point where the patient needed a donor as her kidney were already damaged. Thankfully, the patients sister agreed to donate a kidney, but then, things did not get any better because the patient was still using the same skincare. One thing led to another, and the doctor noticed how she was glowing and decided to ask her about her skincare routine. That was when the doctor discovered the major cause of the issue and advised her against the skincare. Such things happen on a daily basis, people take harmful substances for pleasure sake. Some take alcohol while some do drugs, some engage in self medication while some don't actually care about how little their daily water intake is. Kidney disease is a serious problem that can gradually take the life of a person. The medical bills associated with having kidney disease is not a small amount. Dialysis alone is really expensive talk more of the many medications you'll need to take. Would you want your leg to be oedematoused? Would you want to spend your money searching for good kidneys or treating your kidneys instead of investing in diverse business and your children? Why not stop that harmful practice now and lead a healthy kidney life? Remember, good health is the basic requirement for getting wealth. I was motivated to make this post because of the ill health I've seen due to kidney diseases. Many things that can be avoided are the things causing this sickness.
