I refuse to believe some of them. I have come to get excited instead of being scared by one or another legend, surely the sayona, cryona, anima alone will be listening or reading my thoughts. When I was a child, we always used to meet as kids on the block, and when we were tired of running we used to sit in a circle on the street. I remember a boy telling us the stories that his grandparents told him. He always told one called "Pacts with the Devil". It was about a man who out of his greed and tired of being poor sold the soul of his only son to the devil. This man became a millionaire, without any fear he remembered that he had to give up his only son at the age of 13 and keep his promise to the evil one. For in those years he enjoyed great wealth; he had steers, cows, bulls, horses, and large tracts of land. He also had many women, and they were like queens, and he indulged their every desire. The child grew strong, beautiful, robust and intelligent, the young of the animals did not stop filling the stables. When the day came for the covenant to expire, the skies were darkened, the trees moved as if they were going to be detached from the earth; the ponds overflowed, the earth literally seemed to sink and with it the whole plain. The workers were frightened, they sensed the bad omen of the breeze. The sheets, millions of prayers, horses, everything that was granted in exchange for the soul of the child was very prosperous. The child's father, the miser, was as if nothing had happened. About five hundred black cats appeared, a storm attacked the herd. The mysterious man made his entrance in search of his pay, the frightened pawns ran out, while the owner of everything was trying to play crazy. All scared the owner of the herd released the prayers, the horses, a dust storm formed where everything becomes dark, the moon shone but it was not enough. The son wanted to help his father rode a horse and promised his father to seek all the prayers, since that day was not seen again the boy. After hearing these stories, our little friend shouted: "Let's run" we were all running around in terror. Yo me niego a creer algunas. He llegado a emocionarme en vez de asustarme con una que otra leyenda, seguro la sayona, llorona, anima sola estarán escuchando o leyendo mis pensamientos. De niña siempre nos reuníamos los niños de la cuadra, ya cansados de correr nos sentábamos en circulo en la calle. Recuerdo un niño que nos contaba las historias que a su vez le contaban sus abuelos. Siempre contaba una que se llama "Pactos con el diablo". Trataba de un hombre que por su avaricia y cansado de ser pobre vendió el alma de su único hijo al diablo, este hombre se hizo millonario, sin ningún temor recordaba que debía entregar a su único hijo a la edad de 13 años y cumplir su promesa con el malo. Pues en esos años disfrutó de grandes riquezas, tenía novillos, vacas, toros, caballos y grandes extensiones de tierra. También tenía muchas mujeres las cuales estaban como reinas y complacía todos sus deseos. El niño crecía fuerte, hermoso, robusto e inteligente, las crías de los animales no paraban de llenar los establos. Llegado el día que se vencía el pacto, los cielos se oscurecieron los árboles se movían como si se iban a despegar de la tierra; las lagunas se desbordaron, la tierra literalmente parecía que se iba a hundir y con ella toda la llanura. Los obreros estaban asustados, ellos presentían el mal presagio que daba la brisa. Las sabanas, millones de reses, caballos todo lo que fue concedido a cambio del alma del niño era muy prospero. El padre del niño , el avaro estaba como si nada. Aparecieron como quinientos gatos negros, una tempestad atacó el hato. Hizo su entrada el hombre misterioso en busca de su paga, los peones asustados salieron corriendo, mientras el dueño de todo estaba tratando de hacerse el loco. Todo asustado el dueño del hato suelta las reses, los caballos, se forma una tormenta de polvo donde todo se vuelve oscuridad, la luna alumbraba pero no era suficiente. El hijo queriendo ayudar a su padre montó a caballo y prometió a su padre buscar todas las reses, desde ese día no se volvió a ver más al muchacho. Todos luego de escuchar esas historias, nuestro amiguito pegaba el grito: " a correr se ha dicho" , todos salíamos corriendo aterrorizados. No se quien nos lanzaba agua y gritaba, ¡esto es agua bendita!
