Every morning, I wake up, and this is the moment for my non-negotiable routine (I must admit that if, for some reason, I can't do it in the morning, I make sure to do it in the afternoon). Since the #hivearoundtheworld challenge on its third day suggests sharing a daily routine, I feel this is my most meaningful one.

We all have many routines, but this one is part of my lifestyle. I have been practicing yoga for 15 years, and developing the discipline for daily practice was a journey of awareness. I don’t always do complex poses or vinyasas—I follow the rhythms of my body. If I’m unwell—a cold, a dental issue, a muscle strain, or anything else—I adapt my practice to be gentle. I don’t compete with anyone; my goal is simply to relax, face my inner challenges, stretch my body, and observe my mind.

This is what I want to share with my students: becoming aware of the present moment through physical work transports us to a joy that no circumstance can diminish. I love being mindful of my surroundings without letting them overwhelm me. I can be critical of things that go against my values, but I don’t get emotionally entangled.

Stepping onto the mat every day not only makes our muscles stronger and keeps our joints flexible—it also grants us the same strength and flexibility in our minds. And for that, I am infinitely grateful.

Cada dĂ­a me levanto y este es el momento de mi rutina innegociable (debo confesar que si un dia por fuerza mayor, no puedo, lo hago en la tarde). Y como el reto #hivearoundtheworld en su dĂ­a tres, propone compartir un momento de rutina diario; me parece que este es mi momento mĂĄs relevante. Tenemos, por lo general muchas rutinas, pero esta que comparto es parte de mi estilo de vida. Practico lYoga desde hace 15 aĂąos, y alcanzar la disciplina de la practica diaria fue todo un trabajo de conciencia.

No hago a diario posturas ni vinyasas complicadas, me dejo llevar por los ritmos del cuerpo. Puedo estar enferma; un resfriado, una muela que tuvo que ser atendida, una lesiĂłn muscular u otro mal exigen que la practica sea suave. No compito con nadie, solo intento relajarme, encontrar y enfrentar mis demonios estirando el cuerpo y observando la mente. Eso es lo que quiero llevarle a mis alumnos y alumnas.

Hacerte consciente del aquĂ­ y ahora, a travĂŠs del trabajo corporal, nos transporta a una alegrĂ­a que ninguna circunstancia es capĂĄz de apagar. Yo amo poder estar al tanto de mi entorno sin que me enferme, puedo ser crĂ­tica con todo aquello que va en contra de mis valores, pero no me involucro emocionalmente. Ir a la manta cada dĂ­a; no solo nos vuelve fuertes de mĂşsculos y nos da articulaciones elĂĄsticas, no regala esa misma fuerza y elasticidad en la mente... Por ello es que doy infinitas Gracias.
