Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. The festive season is over, and now it is time for everyone to get back to their normal lives, as the festive season kind of altered that. There are many opportunities that only the festive season can offer us, one of which is family gatherings. Before the season, every member of the family is caught up in their own lives and trying to make ends meet. Before the festive season, everyone works themselves out, but the festive season offers a gateway for rest and recuperation of energy; you rest with loved ones around. Having family members around can be disturbing as everyone is shouting and trying to catch up with each other, there little to no quiet time

The festive season was over too quickly; just when we were about to start enjoying the season, it came to an end, and now we have to get back to our usual life and usual activities. Resuming my daily routine is really not something I look forward to because of how stressful and draining it can be; I wish the holiday could actually go on a little longer. Spending the festive season in my hometown really helped me create memories as well as experience tradition; this is indeed a Christmas to remember.

I loved family gatherings more as a kid because of the goodies you get to enjoy; you get money from uncles and aunties, and whatever Mom and Dad refuse to buy for you, an uncle or auntie will offer to buy, and all you have to do is follow them. But now, as a grown-up, all those extra benefits have stopped coming our way. Not getting gifts from uncles and aunties might have stopped, but that does not mean my love for family gatherings has ceased to exist, but it has dropped a little because of how one has to stress to make it happen, assisting with getting the house in order, and, most of all, fetching water from the tap at the back of the house and filling the drums inside the house.

I spent the holiday in my hometown, and I have been introduced to at least 20-30 people as my relatives, both cousins, aunties, and uncles. I must say we have a full house, and trying to control the house is extra stressful. There are so many things to love about family gatherings: seeing loved ones, watching the younger ones run around the house, teasing each other, but the fun part of it all is eating together in a big tray pan. Eating with cousins and brothers can really be fun, as it is like a survival of the fittest scenario; you have to do what it takes to get your share so they don't eat it all and leave you behind.
