The English language must be confusing for someone trying to learn it. We have so many words that sound the same but are spelled differently, like there and their, hare and hair, and be and bee. Maybe other languages have this too, and I just don't know any different.
There is also flee and flea, flee is to run away from something, and a flea is a bug that feeds on an animal, and you, if they get the chance.
And then there are sand fleas that live at the beach, they are not to be confused with sand flies that bite you, which some people call no see ums. Sand Fleas do not bite, they tickle.
I used to carry my bucket and rake with no problem, but as I aged I started getting a little smarter on how I did things. I had this old luggage cart and strapped my bucket to it. It was easier than carrying a full bucket of fleas.
Then one day I was sitting at home thinking how hard it was to drag the cart through the sand and wondered why I couldn't put wheels on a bucket. I had an old cooler with fat tires, and the axle was the right size to fit the bucket. I made the handle from an old tent pole and tied a corner from one of our old clam bags around it. In the clam bag, I put a plastic glass, it is for filling with water and wetting the sand fleas, and for cleaning my feet when I get back to the truck. It also holds my drink.
I am in no way a sand flea surgeon, but I solved the problem of me not being able to carry the bucket. The first time I used it, I could not fill the bucket because every time I leaned it back, the fleas came out. At home, I saw a roll of flashing in my husband's shop. I cut what I needed to go on the inside of the bucket and stay together, then I folded the edges so they would not be sharp. Now I could fill the bucket and I only need to lift the flashing higher.
