After a day at work, my husband picked me up, and together we went to get our daughters and grandchildren. We had a simple but special plan: to visit the Decándido supermarket. It had been a while since we'd been there, and we were already missing it.
The perfect excuse was to take advantage of the deals on fresh vegetables, but deep down we knew that what we were most excited about was enjoying their famous empanadas, the ones we love so much and that, for only $1.50, are a real treat.
When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see how much the supermarket has improved. The variety of products is impressive: fresh fruits and vegetables, quality products, and a very pleasant atmosphere. But what truly makes it special is its dining area, where you can sit down and enjoy a delicious meal without having to go far.
We, of course, didn't hesitate to order our favorite empanadas: potato and cheese. Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, with that homemade touch we love so much, we paired them with a refreshing cola-flavored drink, which added there perfect touch to our afternoon snack.
While we enjoyed our empanadas, the little ones had a blast in the amusement park right next to the dining area. Seeing their happy faces, running and laughing, was undoubtedly the best dessert of the afternoon.
These kinds of outings, though simple, are the ones I cherish most. They allow us to reconnect, share, and create memories that stay etched in our hearts. You don't need a big plan or a faraway destination to have a good time; sometimes, a crispy empanada, a cold drink, and the company of those we love are all we need.
