Digital Art | Lornah, a spirit consumed by dark magic

Good morning, my dear readers and members of the #Hive artistic community. Happy Tuesday to everyone! I hope you are all doing well and, of course, having an excellent and productive week. For those of you who don't know me yet, let me introduce myself. My name is Manuel, and this is my blog, where I like to share all my artistic creations. On this occasion, I wanted to revisit the theme of magic, which, as you know, is one of my favorites when it comes to drawing. In this case, I set out to create a woman whom I named Lornah, who was something of a dark witch. From a very young age, she was deeply interested in dark magic, regardless of the consequences this would have for her or those around her. Some time ago, Lornah discovered the existence of a powerful and dangerous book of black magic known as the Book of Lorrance, which was written by one of the first sorcerers who ever lived. It was a book that could take her magical powers to unimaginable levels, but to achieve this, she would have to give her soul as an offering.

Muy buenos días mis queridos lectores y lectoras de la comunidad artística de #Hive, feliz marte para todos, espero que se encuentren super bien y que por supuesto estén teniendo una excelente y productiva semana; para quienes aún no me conozcan pues me presento, mi nombre es Manuel y este es mi blog, el lugar donde me gusta compartir todas mis creaciones artísticas. En esta oportunidad quise retomar un poco la temática de la magia, que como sabrán es de mis favoritas a la hora de dibujar, en este caso me propuse crear a una mujer a la cual llamé por el nombre de (Lornah), la cual fuese algo así como una bruja oscura, que desde muy joven se interesó profundamente en la magia oscura, sin importar las consecuencias que esto trajera para ella o para quienes la rodean; hace algún tiempo (Lornah) descubrió de la existencia de un poderoso y a la vez peligroso libro de magia negra conocido como el libro de Lorrance, el cual fue escrito por uno de los primero hechiceros que existió, un libro que podría llevar sus poderes mágicos a niveles inimaginables, pero para lograr esto deberá dar su alma como ofrenda:

I started working on my sketch by adopting a pose for (Lornah) in which she was holding a large book (Lorrance) wide open in her hands while (Lornah) read it. I also drew a magic wand that (Lornah) would hold in her right hand, which she would use to channel her new powers. With my sketch finished, I was able to focus on finding the right colors to bring my character to life. In this case, I started with a palette of opaque colors, using some pale greens as a base while gradually building up the texture and volume of her face, arms, bust, and so on. Something I also like to add to the faces of my female characters is blush with an airbrush.

Empecé trabajando mi boceto adoptando una pose para (Lornah) en la cual ella estuviese sosteniendo entre sus manos un gran libro (Lorrance) totalmente abierto mientras (Lornah) lo lee, también dibuje una varita mágica la cual (Lornah) sostendría en su mano derecha, la cual usara para canalizar sus nuevos poderes. Ya con mi boceto terminado pude centrarme en buscar los colores adecuados para darle vida a mi personaje, en este caso empecé con una paleta de colores opacos, algunos verdes pálidos me sirvieron como base mientras poco a poco iba construyendo la textura y el volumen de su rostro, brazos, busto y demás; algo que también me gusta agregar al rostro de mis personajes femeninos es rubor con aerógrafo.

With regard to the face, work a little more on the eyes and mouth, as these are what will give (Lornah) her personality. For the eyes, work with shades between orange and red, and try to make them slightly narrowed to convey a certain happiness in the character. For the lips, I used pinks, and to further express happiness, I sketched a noticeable smile of joy, since Lornah is ecstatic to finally find Lorrance's book. After finishing the face, I worked on the character's hairstyle. In this case, I wanted to find shades that contrasted a little with the skin and eyes, which is why I used pink and purple tones to create very long hair.

Con respecto al apartado del rostro trabaje un poco más aparte lo que serian los ojos y la boca, esto pues serían los que le darían la personalidad a (Lornah), en el caso de los ojos trabaje con unos tonos entre naranja y rojo, trate de hacer unos ojos un poco entrecerrados denotando cierta felicidad en el personaje, y para los labios use rosados, e igualmente para expresar la felicidad esboce una notable sonrisa de alegría puesto que (Lornah) esta extasiada por finalmente encontrar el libre de (Lorrance). Después de terminar con el rostro me ocupe del peinado del personaje, en este caso quise buscar tonos que contrastaran un poco con la piel y los ojos, es por ello que use tonos rosados y morados para crear una cabellera muy larga.

In the third stage, create the outfit for Lornah. Here, use green tones again, but slightly darker. Create a short-sleeved dress with loose, soft fabric using the watercolor brush and my square-tipped brush. To create the magic wand, I used brown tones to replicate a wood texture, which is generally the material from which all magic wands are made. In the case of the dark book, I first used a dark brown base for the open structure, then with gray, brown, and light pink tones, I began to paint the pages, giving a little volume to the sides. Then, using intense pink and fuchsia tones, I created the writing on the pages of the book, trying to represent a strange language and symbols. To finish, I took the airbrush and began to create a little illumination around the letters of the book, the tip of the magic wand, and Lornah's eyes.

En la 3ra etapa cree la vestimenta para (Lornah), aquí use nuevamente tonalidades verdes, pero un poco mas oscuras, cree un vestido de mangas cortas y tela holgada y suave, para ello use el pincel de acuarela y mi pincel de punta cuadrada. Para la creación de la varita mágica use tonos marrones para replicar una textura de madera, que por lo generan es de ese material que están forjadas todas las varitas mágicas. En el caso del libro oscuro primero use una base de marrón oscuro para la estructura abierta, luego con tonos grises, marrones y rosados claros comencé a pintar las paginas dando un poco de volumen a lo lados; después con tonos rosados intensos y fucsia cree la escrituras en las paginas del libro tratando de representar un idioma y símbolos extraños, y ya para culminar tome el aerógrafo y comencé a crear un poco de iluminación alrededor de las letras del libro, en la punta de la varita mágica y los ojos de (Lornah).
