Digital Art | Carmillak, the surviving Elven Warrior 🤺

Good morning, my dear #Hive readers! Happy Sunday morning to all of you who are already awake and reading me on this new day. I hope you are doing great and, of course, having a wonderful weekend. Once again, your friend Manuel here is super happy to share a new artistic post for my blog with you. This time, I bring you an illustration that I've been working on for the last three days and which I finished just last night. It's a drawing in which my idea was basically to represent a kind of elf warrior whom I decided to call (Carmillak), a fervent and powerful survivor, one of the few left after the attack on her village, who has become stronger and stronger over the years. Despite her youth and the few warriors who accompany her, Carmillak is highly respected and will not rest until she has killed every last one of the outsiders who destroyed her village and her family.

Muy buenos días mis queridos lectores y lectoras de #Hive, feliz domingo por la mañana para todos los que se encuentran ya despiertos por aquí leyéndome en este nuevo día, espero que se encuentren super bien y que, por supuesto estén pasando un maravilloso fin de semana, por aquí los saluda una vez mas su amigo Manuel super feliz de poder compartirles un nuevo post artístico para mi blog. En esta ocasión les traigo una ilustración en la cual estuve trabajando los últimos 3 días y la cual finalicé apenas anoche, se trata de un dibujo en el que básicamente mi idea fue representar a una especie de guerrera elfa a la cual decidí llamar por el nombre de: (Carmillak), una ferviente y poderosa sobreviviente, una de las pocas después del ataque a su pueblo, y que con paso de los años se fue volviendo más y más fuerte; a pesar de su juventud y de los pocos guerreros que la acompañan (Carmillak) es sumamente respetada, y no descansara hasta acabar hasta con el último de los forasteros que acabaron con su pueblo y su familia:

In the first stage of all my works, I like to work a little on the sketch design. This gives me a better idea and structure of what I see to draw. In this case, I drew the warrior with her arm raised above her head, wielding her great sword, as if encouraging her subordinates in battle. Once I had finished the line art, I moved on to the next stage, coloring. In this case, I wanted to start with a slightly saturated color palette, as I usually like to use, with some reddish and orange tones to begin building the base of the skin on the face and other visible areas such as the arms. For the volume-building process, I like to use my airbrush brush to gently form the basic volume, then with my flat brush I add more detail to the nose, eyelids, pointed ears, etc.

En la 1ra etapa de todas mis obras me gusta trabajar un poco en el diseño del boceto, esto me da una mejor idea y estructura de lo que veo a dibujar, en este caso dibuje a la guerrera con su brazo alzado sobre su cabeza, empuñando su gran espada, como animando a sus subordinados en la batalla. Ya habiendo finalizado con el line art me pasé al siguiente apartado, el de coloreado, en este caso quise empezar con una paleta de colores un poco saturada como habitualmente me gusta usar, con algunos tonos medio rojizos y naranjas para empezar a construir la base de la piel del rostro y otras zonas que se encuentren visibles como los brazos; para el proceso de construcción de volumen me gusta emplear mi pincel de aerógrafo suavemente formando el volumen básico, luego con mi pincel plano voy dándole más detalle a la zona de la nariz, parpados, las orejas puntiagudas, etc.

To paint the eyes, I first used a light brown base to shape the eyeballs. In this case, my idea was to make them large so that the character would not look evil or anything like that. Then, using intense blue tones, I created the pupils of the eyes, and with slightly lighter blues, I formed the iris around them, adding some highlights to make the gaze look realistic. To paint Carmillak's outfit, I decided to work in sections. In the first section, I used pale pink tones to create a corset that fit the silhouette of her torso. Here, I worked with my rough texture brush to represent the leather of the garment. Then, using slightly lighter shades, I created a kind of shoulder protector made from the fur of creatures that Carmillak had defeated in the past. Here, I used my bristle brush to achieve a more realistic fur texture.

Para el pintado de los ojos use primero una base de marones claros para darle forma a los globos oculares, en este caso mi idea era darle un gran tamaño para que el personaje no se viese como alguien malvada o algo así, luego con tonos azules intensos fui creando las pupilas de los ojos, y con azules un poco mas claros forme el iris alrededor junto con algunos brillos para darle realismo a la mirada. Para el pintado del atuendo de (Carmillak) decidí trabajar el secciones, en la primera sección use tonos medio rosados pálidos para crearle un corsé ajustado a la silueta de su torso, aquí trabaje con mi pincel de textura rugosa para representar el cuero de la prenda; luego con tonos un poco mas claros cree sobre sus hombros especies de protectores hechos del pelaje de algunas criaturas a la cual (Carmillak) derrotó en el pasado, aquí use mi pincel de cerdas para lograr una textura de pelaje más realista.

In the third part, I focused on creating the character's hair. Here, I used a reddish color palette, and my idea was to create slightly voluminous, wavy hair with some strands around the neck area. To create the large sword that accompanies Carmillak in all his battles, I used gray and blue tones to begin working on the metal and the blade of the weapon. Here, I used my watercolor brush and another with a square tip to give the metal a good texture. Then, applying the layer effect (Shine), I created a line on the curved edge of the sword to represent its blade. I repeated the process on this line with finer and finer strokes until I achieved a metal appearance that I liked. As a complement to the sword, I decided to create some irregular strokes with red colors to represent traces of the blood of his enemies impregnated on the blade of his weapon.

En la 3ra parte me centre el construir el cabello del personaje, aquí use una paleta de colores rojiza, y mi idea era crear una cabellera un poco voluminosa y ondulada con algunos mechones en la zona del cuello. Para crear la gran espada la cual acompaña a (Carmillak) en todas sus batallas use unos tonos grises y azules para empezar a trabajar el metal y la hoja del arma, aquí use mi pincel acuarela y otro con punta cuadra para darle una buena textura al metal, luego con aplicando el efecto de capa (Shine) cree una línea en el borde curvo de la espada para representar el filo de esta, fui repitiendo el proceso en esta línea con trazos mas y mas finos hasta que logre conseguir una apariencia de metal que me gustara. Como complemente para la espada se me ocurrió crear algunos trazos irregulares con colores rojos, esto para representar rastros de la sangre de sus enemigos impregnada en la hoja de su arma.
