Hello, fellow art lovers!

It's been a while since I've graced this wonderful corner of the ecosystem with my presence. The reason? I've been involved in several book projects that consume almost all of my time. Designing covers, laying out books, and illustrating are activities I'm passionate about, and therefore, they require me to give my very best. However, today I felt the need to share with you some of what I've been working on.

This is the sketch for the cover illustration of the book "Leo and the Witches," by the young Cuban writer Amelia Marti Martínez Apolinario, a children's story strongly influenced by the work of Roald Dahl. In this tale, the author presents an adventure where magic, humor, and fantasy, set in the contemporary context of Cuba, allow us to identify with the protagonist and share the emotion that grows with each line, which is full of intertextual references.

As you can see, it's a work in progress, but I'm sharing it with great pleasure in the hope that you'll appreciate a little more of what I do and forgive my unintentional absence. Sending you light and hugs.

¡Hola, amigos amantes del dibujo!
Hace algún tiempo que no llegaba a este rincón maravilloso dentro del ecosistema. ¿Las razones? He estado involucrada en varios proyectos de libros que me consumen casi todo el tiempo. Diseñar cubiertas, maquetar libros e ilustrar, son actividades que me apasionan y, por ende, implican que entregue lo mejor de mí.
Sin embargo, hoy sentí la necesidad de compartir con ustedes parte de lo que he estado haciendo.

Se trata del boceto para la ilustración de cubierta del libro "Leo y las brujas", de la joven escritora cubana Amelia Martínez Apolinario, un relato para niños que tiene un fuerte referente en la obra de Roald Dahl. En esta historia, la autora propone una aventura donde la magia, el humor, la fantasía, llevadas al contexto presente de Cuba, nos hacen identificarnos con su protagonista y compartir la emoción que crece con cada línea, en las que no faltan los guiños intertextuales.

Como verán, es un trabajo en proceso pero lo comparto con mucho placer en espera de que aprecien un poco más de lo que hago y perdonen mi ausencia involuntaria.
