Porto vanlife trip, cathedral, Sé do Porto.

Hello every body,
Today I will show you some pictures of my visit to Porto this summer. A friend of my walked the Camino the Santiago and I went and meet here in Porto. I was in the middle of summer when I was there and it was pretty hot those day's. But the cool breeze that rolled in from the sea worked very refreshing. I almost never travel in the middle of summer,. but now I see why people love to go to the sea in summer.
I parked my van on a camper parking on the south of the river Douro, across the city of Porto. From that parking it was a 8 km bike ride to the famous Luis I-bridge in to the city. From there you can walk trough the whole city center.

It was so nice to see the city from the other side of the river. A totally different surrounding than the city center.

There he is, the Luis the I-bridge. There was so much to see along the way that the drive in wasn't that hard.

View of the Porto cathedral.

The cathedral, Sé do Porto, is one of the oldest monuments of the city. More then 800 years it stands in the middle of the city. For 3 euro's you can enter it and stroll around as long as you want. One of the towers is also open for a visit. The view from op there is stunning.

You have a panoramic view all over the city. They build it on the highest point of the city center. You could see that clearly in picture 6 of this post.

And a nice view on to the building it self.

I like this view the best. Here are only old buildings in frame. The other side is the new part of the city more visible.

Standing here during a sunset would be amazing. Than I need to go back in winter, sunsets just before closing time.

When you walk inside of the cathedral, then you really feel like you are in a fairy tale, those old corridors and arched windows are as if you are walking through a Harry Potter film set.

I felt so lucky to captur this woman in here red dress. That is a beautiful contrast with the gray church.

Very busty with all those summer tourists.

I manage to capture this picture with just one person in it. She was playing with here telephone, sittinmg and relaxing in those beautiful bay windows.

In side the church it was a bit more busy. People taking pictures and others that were praying or just sitting and absorb the atmosphere of the church. I sat down behind these two people. Their had's looks so cool inside there. A perfect subject to take pictures of.

I love a nice look up picture. The symmetry is so cool.

I hate all that gold in churches. I mean it looks very beautiful and it heritage, but if you claim to do good for the once who need it the most, this just doesn't ad up.

The sunlight that fell through the stained glass window, made the church look a bit less grey.

Thank you for reading my post. And let me know what you think of it.
