Topic Review: The House of Prayer in Jerusalem

‎The temple of God which was built in Jerusalem was a place considered sacred where the children of God could converge and pray to God and fellowship with Him. But sadly, the house where people came to worship became misused and all manner of things began to take place there. With time it started to turn into something else. People slowly began to lose respect for the temple and the rules abiding it.

‎Before Jesus came to die for us the initial dwelling of God's presence were in these temples and they were to be treated with utmost honour. But instead of doing so and recognizing the temple of Jerusalem to be a holy place, they ended up converting it into something different entirely.

‎They used the house of God as a cover for their own personal gains. When Jesus noticed this one time He was very furious quickly rebuked them. The house of God is the last place where criminal activities should be going on but they used it as an avenue to indulge in such.

‎Whenever we are talking about the things of God no other things should be involved. We can't mix a place of worship with a place of business. The house of God is something we keep holy and sacred. Even now that He has made us as His dwelling place we should live a holy and sacred life.
