Servir también es parte de la adoración. || Serving is also part of worship.

Each of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our one and only Savior has the privilege and responsibility to serve, as a supreme calling.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness;

Come before him with joyful songs.

Psalm 100:1-2

When we speak of servants of God, we may only be thinking of pastors, evangelists, those who are in the church at all times serving others. But when we speak of servants, we are talking about those who provide a service. A servant of God is one who serves God in many ways, not only within the church. Let us remember that Paul reminds us that service is part of our mission.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

Even if there were no reason to serve God, the fact of gratitude for having been rescued from the guilt of sin would be reason enough to do so. Not only have we been rescued, but He has also given us eternal life so that we may live forever with the Lord. He has also allowed us to have the presence of the Holy Spirit within us. Any service we render is a way of gratefully acknowledging what God has done by sending His Son for us.

There are many people inside and outside the church who offer a service, but is it truly a service to God? Many serve themselves by working in the church or serving others, but simply to satisfy themselves, to make others happy, to appease some kind of guilt, or to fulfill a self-imposed demand. These people put themselves first before God; the service is simply for self-gratification. Let us remember that anything received in prayer above God is an idol, and in this case, we ourselves can be our own children, placing ourselves first before God.

Service is not simply a great idea; God calls us to service to bless others. This investment in serving others and serving God has eternal significance, for through service we can reach many with God's word so they may be saved. We can build a network of disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. We may think our work seems small or limited, but any role we play in service is vital for spreading the Gospel, growing our brothers and sisters, and fostering a healthy church life ready to receive Christ at His second coming.

Cuándo hablamos de siervos de Dios quizás solamente estemos pensando en pastores, evangelistas, aquellos que están en la iglesia en todo tiempo sirviendo a los demás, pero cuando hablamos de siervos estamos hablando de aquellas personas que brindan un servicio, un siervo de Dios, es aquel que sirve a Dios a través de muchas formas y no sólo dentro de la iglesia, recordemos que Pablo nos recuerda que el servicio es parte de nuestra misión.

Porque somos hechura suya, creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó de antemano para que anduviésemos en ellas.

Efesios 2:10

Si no existiera razón para servir a Dios, el hecho de la gratitud por haber sido rescatados de la culpa del pecado, sería una razón suficiente para hacerlo. No sólo hemos sido rescatados sino que también nos ha dado vida eterna para que vivamos para siempre con el señor, también nos ha permitido tener la presencia del espíritu Santo en nosotros. cualquier servicio que prestemos es una forma de reconocer agradecidos lo que Dios ha hecho al enviar a su hijo por nosotros.

Hay muchísimas personas dentro y fuera de la iglesia que presta un servicio ¿pero realmente es un servicio para Dios?. Muchos se sirven asimismo trabajando en la iglesia o el servicio de otras personas pero simplemente para satisfacerse asimismo, para hacer felices o para aplacar algún tipo de culpa o cumplir con cierta demanda auto impuesto. Éstas personas se ponen en primer lugar antes que a Dios, el servicio es simplemente para satisfacerse asimismo, recordemos que todo lo que recibe en oración por encima de Dios es un ídolo y en este caso podemos ser nosotros mismos nuestro propio hijo ocupando el primer lugar antes que Dios.

El servicio no es simplemente una idea genial, Dios nos llama al servicio para bendecir a otros y esta inversión en servir a los demás y servir a Dios tiene un peso eterno ya que a través del servicio podemos alcanzar con la palabra de Dios a muchos para que estos sean salvos, podemos generar una Red de discípulos del señor Jesucristo. Quizás pensemos que nuestro trabajo pueda parecer pequeño o limitado pero cualquier papel que desempeñemos en cuanto al servicio es de vital importancia para la difusión del Evangelio, el crecimiento de los hermanos y la vida en una iglesia sana para recibir a Cristo en su segunda venida.
