La dirección de nuestros pasos. IOI The direction of our steps.

We desire to follow God's will, and to do so, we must wait for God to guide us. We must not allow ourselves to be pressured into making hasty decisions and miss the mark, the direction we wish to go.

Show me your ways, O Lord;

Teach me your paths.

Psalm 25:4

I am sure that many times in our lives we have prayed for God to guide each of our steps, but surely at some point we have ignored God's answer. This happens because we choose to listen to our own answer rather than trust in God. We often prefer not to wait for God to approve our plan or to wait for His answer; this simply prevents us from receiving the best that God has for us. We can avoid this if we consciously pay attention to those impulses that somehow prevent us from clearly hearing the Lord's voice guiding us in the right direction.

We must be fully aware that we have natural, human desires. While these are not inherently bad, when they begin to dominate our lives and thoughts, they can cause harm and prevent us from seeing the path we should be on.

Let the wise listen and add to their learning,

And let the discerning get guidance.

Proverbs 1:5

Let us be extremely cautious with advice that is not truly wholesome, that is, misguided advice. For this reason, we should seek counsel from those who are more experienced and who walk in the ways of the Lord, especially those whose advice is grounded in His word.

There is another aspect we must keep in mind when following the Lord's guidance or steps: we are impatient beings, especially today, when everyone expects instant gratification. Let us be careful with impatience because of the pressure it can exert if we don't control it. Emotions can lead us to make wrong decisions. Perhaps we agree that being patient is incredibly difficult, but waiting is valid when we know that God approves of that decision.

Let us remember that the Holy Spirit dwells within us. We ask God, and through His Holy Spirit, He will teach us, giving us the ability and strength not only to make the right decision but also to have the patience we need. Let us choose the Lord, seek His guidance, and God will provide us with everything we need to persevere. The decision is ours.

Deseamos seguir la voluntad de Dios y para ello debemos esperar que Dios nos guíe y no debemos dejarnos presionar para tomar cualquier decisión de forma apresurada y errar al blanco, a la dirección la cual deseamos ir.

Muéstrame, oh Jehová, tus caminos;
Enséñame tus sendas.

Salmos 25:4

Estoy seguro que muchas veces en nuestra vida hemos orado para que Dios guíe cada uno de nuestros pasos pero también seguramente en algún momento hemos ignorado la respuesta de Dios. Esto sucede porque decidimos escuchar nuestra propia respuesta ante que confiar en Dios. Preferimos muchas veces no esperar a que Dios apruebe nuestro plan o esperar su respuesta, esto simplemente no nos permite obtener lo mejor que Dios tiene para nosotros. Esto podemos evitar si concientemente prestamos atención aquellos impulsos que de alguna manera no nos permiten escuchar con claridad la voz del señor que nos guía en la dirección correcta.

Debemos ser plenamente conscientes de que tenemos deseos naturales, humanos, si bien estos no son malos pero cuando comienzan a dominar nuestras vidas y nuestros pensamientos pueden causar daño y de esa manera no nos permiten ver el camino en el que debemos andar.

Oirá el sabio, y aumentará el saber,
Y el entendido adquirirá consejo,

Proverbios 1:5

Seamos sumamente prudente con aquellos consejos que no son verdaderamente saludables es decir, son consejos errados. Es por esta razón que debemos buscar consejo de aquellos más experimentados y quienes caminan en los caminos del señor sobre todos aquellos quienes están fundamentados en su palabra.

Hay un aspecto también que debemos tener muy en cuenta al momento de seguir dirección o los pasos del señor, somos seres impacientes sobre todo en la actualidad donde todos lo tenemos de forma inmediata, tengamos cuidado con la impaciencia por la misma presión que está puede ejercer si no nos controlamos, las emociones pueden llevarnos a tomar decisiones erradas. Quizás coincidamos en que ser pacientes es algo demasiado difícil pero es válida la espera cuando sabemos que Dios es quien aprueba esa decisión.

Recordemos que el espíritu Santo mora en nosotros, nosotros pedimos a Dios y Dios por medio de su espíritu Santo nos enseñará, nos dará la capacidad y fuerza no sólo para tomar la decisión correcta sino que también para tener la paciencia que necesitamos, decidamos por el señor, busquemos su dirección y Dios nos provee de todo lo que necesitamos para permanecer, la decisión es nuestra.
