We finally found Miu, but the taste of power has gotten into her head a bit too much! We also encounter Jijmon, I didn't expect to see him in this game!!

Digimon Survive is a Digimon Visual Novel with Turn-based strategy battles. The game follows a group of children who find themselves in another world, and their desperate attempts to find a way back home. The children find themselves involved with monsters, both as partners and enemies.

This is the darkest piece of Digimon media I ever consumed, and

had pretty dark stuff too. Digimon Survive fuses the concept of Digital Monsters with Japanese folklore. It's amazing how the idea of "child sacrifice" integrates seamlessly with Digimon lore. The specific Digimon they choose for this game enhance this theme.

Digimon Survive is the closest modern entry to the old school Digimon anime vibes. Though, more than the earlier Digimon anime series, the game reminds me more of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor series. In that series too, characters may die depending on your actions.

18 - Castle Queen

We follow Biyomon, Palmon, and Patamon to the throne room. There we find that Miu has become their queen. Kaito and the friends try to persuade her to go with them, as she's being hunted, but she doesn't believe them.

She says that Kaito is too overprotective of her, and that she hates him!! He doesn't take that well...

She uses a trap in the throne room and sends us all falling... We find ourselves in a prison, until Jijmon appears and frees us from there.

There comes a huge lore drop: This amusement park has been here for decades now... The world is being maintained by a powerful being, and Jijmon is fond of Miu as she took his role as the caretaker of the baby Digimon here.
