The history of Gods Unchained Promo cards

Introduction

Cards in the Promo set come from all sorts of sources. Some were created about the time when Gods Unchained started and was raising money selling Genesis packs and Mythic cards.

There is no single place to learn about how the cards were distributed and their history, so in this post I'm going to keep track of that.

So here are all the Promo cards in Gods Unchained, sorted by prototype ID.

First Phoenix

  • Participants in the auction for the Mythic card

    who placed a bid received a card.

Blessed Chimera

  • Engagement event during Genesis. Awarded for completing a series of tasks in Gleam.

Blessed Ibis

  • Proto ID: 403

  • Compensation for a reset in the Core card collection and the leveling progress in 2019, and also temporarily turning off the Forge for Core cards. The number and quality of the minted cards depended on the player's level at the snapshot date.

Philosophic Evangelist

  • Proto ID: 407

  • A combined Genesis and Trial of the Gods collection reward, based on the collection title, which was attributed based on card collection completeness after Trial came out.

Divine Order Rats

  • Once the Mythic card

    was found from Order packs, one of these rats was minted very rarely.

    was discovered in Mortal Judgement packs, its draw chance was replaced with this Legendary Dragon.

Dread Awakening collection rewards

  • Part of the marketing effort to sell Dread Awakening packs, there was a snapshot for collection rewards, and these cards were some of the possible prizes.
