What a weekend.

Some weekends we go out for a walk to enjoy time with the family, but others are spent working. However, this work was very enjoyable, especially since it was with my family.
On Friday before Saturday, I went shopping with my mom and sister-in-law for what would be Christmas dinner, and on the weekend I would go to the farm to make hallaqueros or hallaquitas buns.
So, early on Saturday after breakfast, I left with my niece, who was at home, and we took the bus to the footbridge, and from there we took a motorcycle to my mom's farm.

When we arrived, I put away the things I had brought, changed my clothes, and got to work cooking the ground corn, then grinding it for the hallaquitas dough, which would be mixed with precooked corn flour.

My mother took care of lunch, and after grinding the corn, I looked for some of the seasonings to chop up and then the meat.
On Saturday night, we sang “Happy Birthday” to my nephew Meruem, who turned 11, just among ourselves. After eating the cake, the few guests left, and I continued chopping the meat for the stew, beef and pork.

At the end of the day, I put everything in the refrigerator, cleaned the table, took a shower, talked to my children, who were home alone for the first time, and then went to bed, but I played on my cell phone for a while and then fell asleep.
It was already Sunday morning, and I had to continue with the preparations for the hallaquitas, but first I washed my face, had a delicious coffee, and watched the sunrise, with the sun already shining beautifully.

After breakfast, I looked for the meat to continue chopping and the other missing seasonings. My sister-in-law went to look for the leaves that she bought nearby from a man who sold them cheaper, and they were very good.

My brother arrived with my other sister-in-law, who would be helping out, because making hallacas, besides being very tasty, brings the family together. Since the leaves were already there, I chopped them up so they could clean them later, which is something they don't like to do very much, but they have to be cleaned.

My brother went to set up the stove to cook the stew that I was in charge of, but with my mom's instructions, which is why it turned out so delicious. When it was ready, I took it off the heat and set it on a table to cool. After lunch, we would start making the hallacas.

After making the hallaquitas, we lit the stove again to cook them. My brother and his partner left because they had to work on Monday. My other sister-in-law and I cleaned everything up, collected the trash, and waited for the hallaquitas to cook.
We had dinner, then I rested, took a bath, and went to sleep, since I was returning to my house on Monday and still had things to organize, as dinner would be at my house this year.
