Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - Datasheet Review post!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit in the game of Warhammer 40,000
The last of the Indexes! A new challenge!
Right, I am finally ahead and by my best estimations as I explained in this Post, I should be able to keep ahead of the release curve and get the remainder of the Indexes reviewed before those Codex releases.
So I embark on a new challenge. I have calculated that there are roughly 148 reviews to do. I have chosen my frequency and have given myself 96 days to review them all. That means that I am aiming at Day 96 being the 21st of July 2025!
Today is Day 14/96.
I have reviewed 20/148.
Time elapsed: 14.58%
Review Completion: 13.51%
Less than 1% behind.
Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $226 to pay off!
Every bit counts!
Back to the review!
Chaos Daemons, Bloodmaster
10th Edition Index
A Skullmaster is a non-Epic Character unit. You can have up to three of them in your army. They are Bloodletters who have been thrown into the Skullpit and have emerged victorious. I assume this is some sort of arena where Bloodletters fight one another. This Bloodletter is then blessed and enhanced by Khorne.
When you see one of these... thing of THAT unit of Bloodletters as far superior...
It is 65pts to field one of these models and thus, with a unit of Bloodletters at 110pts = 175pts for a squad of 11.
Let's check their stats and abilities!
Stats
Movement 8"
Toughness 4
Save 5+/4++ (armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 4
Ld 7+
OC 1
Weapons
Standard weapons: Blade of Blood
Ranged Weapons
None
Melee Weapons
Blade of Blood
5 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, S6, AP-2 and 3 Damage each.
Abilities
Deep Strike - If this unit arrives on the Battlefield from Reserves, it can be set up anywhere on the battlefield more than 9" from enemy models.
Bloodmaster
While this model is leading a unit, each time models in that unit makes an attack, add 1 to the Wound Roll.
A Gory Path
When this model's unit Consolidates, it can move up to 6" instead of 3".
Thoughts
Auto Lance permanently for the unit! +1 to Wound permanently is no joke! The game works by comparing Strength of the attacking weapon and the Toughness of the defender. If they are equal, it is 4+. 1 or more strength above is 3+ and double is 2+. 1 or more toughness is 5+ and double is 6+
So you can potentially wound the following with S5 Bloodletters:
T1-2: 2+
T3-4: 3+
T5: 4+
T6-9: 5+
T10+: 6+
With the Blood Master this becomes:
T1-4: 2+
T5: 3+
T6-9: 4+
T10+: 5+
The Bloodmaster himself is S6 so his roll table is even better when leading a unit:
T1-3: 2+
T4-T5: 3+
T6: 4+
T7-T11: 5+
T12: 6+
Becomes:
T1-T5: 2+
T6: 3+
T7-T11: 4+
T12+: 5+
This makes these ankle-biters something that starts threatening to chew through huge tanks and monsters and be absolutely deadly against infantry.
The 6" Consolidate is also great. It means that after wiping out an enemy, they can get closer to the next one faster and since their wounding ability from the Blood Master is NOT Lance and needing a Charge move, if you can consolidate into another unit, it would be great.
That makes 8 Chaos Daemon Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 16% Completed! The total of the remaining Index reviews is now 125.
Thank you for reading!
