Wow! I did not expect my Hive birthday to pop up right now! It is pretty crazy to think that I have been on the blockchain so long! I am almost more excited about this birthday than my real birthday!

I suppose now would be a good time to reminisce for a moment and think about that I appreciate and what I regret on Hive.

What do I regret most out of my time on Hive?

Simple put: That I was not active 100% for all 7 years.

If I had been active as a blogger and commenter for all seven years then I would have a very different account!

That said, life is as it is and with the bumps in the road we sometimes just need to move forward with what we have. If we let small setbacks affect us, then we will get nothing done.

What am I grateful for?

I am grateful for a lot of things. Having a space on the internet where I can blog and write about anything and everything is really special to me.

Having a community of people that I have grown to know and interact with is really priceless. It is a list of friends and acquaintances that are a lot more difficult to cultivate than a Facebook friend and 1000x more sincere. A Facebook friend accepts a request and then forgets you. A Hive friend is cultivated through constant communication and support.

Of course earning on Hive has been a massive help! Monetizing my time and effort to create content is inspiring. Creating a backup funding and passive income funding has been a lifesaver in more ways than one!

Mentally and physically I would not be able to cope without Hive in my life today.

The amount of times that Hive money has seen us through a tough situation, I am so grateful for that!

And then the mental knowledge that I have created and earned something beyond my day job. Something that can grow and expand... that has also been amazing!

Growth?

Well, I started Hive 7 years ago. For around 3 years I chugged along a bit and then stopped for over a year of inactivity. Now I have been busy again for another 3 years and the growth has been explosive!

Let's forget what I had before my gap years. I earned, left, came back to unstake and quit it all... then saw all the cool stuff going on... and started again.

I started 2022 with 313HP
I started 2023 with 1,747.613HP (+1,434.613HP)
I started 2024 with 4,263.250HP (+2,515.637HP)
I started 2025 with 7,715.077HP (+3,451.827HP)

In 2022 I wanted to reach 1,000HP by the end of the year. I overshot this by a long margin and got to 1,747HP instead and earning 1,434HP in a year.

In 2023 I said to myself I want to earn another 2,000HP, that would place me on 3,795HP, instead I reached 4,263HP with a gain of 2,515HP.

I don't think I set a goal for 2024. I am sure I wanted to see an increase of at least 3,000HP. I gained a 3,451HP and so I continue to grow

I am currently at 7,821.856 HP.

It is clear that the long you are on Hive, while remaining dedicated and active of course, that you can earn progressively more. The value of one's time then grows exponentially.

The value of each day increases while the percentage of the whole decreases as we gain stake. Allow me some more stats and maths:

In 2022 I was earning an average of 3.93HP per day.
In 2023 I was earning an average of 6.89HP per day. (+2.96)
In 2024 I was earning an average of 9.45HP per day. (+2.56)

Meanwhile the proportional gains are:

2022-2023: 313HP to 1,747.613HP = 5.58x or 558%
2023-2024: 1,747.613HP to 4,263.250HP = 2.43x or 243%
2024-2025: 4,263.250HP to 7,715.077HP = 1.80x or 180%

So What is Next based on these figures?

Well, the trend would suggest that I start 2025 aiming at a gain of roughly 4,000HP. That would put me on 11,715HP.

The daily for 4,000HP would be 10.95HP a day but the earning trend would suggest an average to be around 11.61HP a day which would result in a gain of 4237.65HP and a total of 11,952.727HP

The growth percentage, if calculated at the linear decline in percentage should be around 167.4% increase... this works out to around 12,915HP (14.24HP per day)

So looking at those two metrics I can say roughly between 12,000HP and 13,000HP by the end of 2025.

My current gain during 2025 is at 9.70HP a day which exceeds my average of 2024. At that pace alone I gain 3540.5HP and end up on 11,255.5HP

So now I have a Low, Mid and High Goals. This is good!

But wait there is more!

2025 we are hitting Bull run numbers. It is my intention to sell and buy back again. I do not know what that will do to my totals by the end of the year. Earning 4,000HP to 5,200HP for 2025 is certainly possible but I intend on buying back the stake I sell and possibly more. It all depends on the markets.

Well. Time will tell!

Its all up to me and my efforts! I am trying my best to cultivate better habits when it comes to me screen time and procrastination. Yes... despite how busy I am, I still find time to procrastinate!
