The 6oz pharaoh skull: A Toxic Pour treasure like no other...

There are pieces in my silver stack that stand out not just for their weight or purity, but for their sheer artistry — and my 6oz .999 fine silver Pharaoh Skull from

’s Toxic Pour brand is one of them. It’s a piece that grabs attention the moment you see (or hold) it.

Oval in shape, the bar’s diameter is comparable to a 1oz silver coin — but that’s where the similarity ends. This beast is thick, giving it a heft and tactile quality that’s hard to put down. What really sets it apart is the raised, detailed Pharaoh skull — the headpiece emerging boldly from the surface, almost demanding to be touched and admired.

Ray gave this piece a finish that truly suits its theme. The darkened, blackened toning enhances the contours of the design, lending it a kind of ancient, unearthed-relic vibe. I suspect liver of sulphur played a part in creating that effect, though I’ve heard tell of another trick — sealing silver with a hard-boiled egg so the sulphur brings out rich purple and golden tones. However it was done, the result is stunning.

What makes my Pharaoh Skull even more special is its rarity. I don’t know the exact mintage numbers, but I’d wager these pours are in the single digits — and I’m fortunate enough to own #3. It’s the kind of piece that reminds me why I love collecting poured silver: no two pieces are exactly alike, and each one carries the maker’s signature style and a bit of their creative spirit.
