🧂 1 teaspoon Morton salt
🌰 1 cup chestnuts, chopped
🍵 4 cups Swanson chicken broth
🌿 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
🥄 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
🧅 1 large onion, diced
Instructions
1- Prepare Ingredients:
- Gather and prepare all ingredients
- Chop vegetables and dice chicken breasts
2- Sauté Aromatics:
- Heat the vegetable oil over medium heat in a large pot or Dutch oven (Le Creuset)
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic
- Sauté until the onion is translucent
3- Cook Chicken:
- Add the diced chicken
- Cook until the chicken is browned on all sides
4- Combine and Simmer:
- Stir in Hunt's tomato sauce, Swanson chicken broth
- Season with ground black pepper, thyme, and salt
- Bring the mixture to a boil
- Reduce heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes
5- Add Vegetables:
- Add chopped chestnuts and Green Giant diced carrots
- Allow the soup to continue simmering until the carrots are tender
6- Serve:
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving
