Yesterday, I went with my friend V to the 4th International Venezuelan Specialty Coffee Meeting, which took place from the 28th of this month until today, the 30th, that is, for three days, in Simón Bolívar Park in La Carlota, Caracas.

With more than 100 exhibitors, as well as national and international tasters and various activities for the public, coffee growers, and participating coffee brands, who will be, or were, competing for the Gold, Silver, and Bronze cups.

By the time this post is written, the fair will surely have closed and the winners announced, but this time I just want to show you a little of what I saw yesterday.

Each participating stand decorated its space with coffee-related items. Some even displayed beans in their different stages and roasts.

After seeing so much coffee and smelling coffee, we definitely had to try some. It was difficult to decide between so many varieties.

Until Café Colao caught our attention and we decided to try it.

I'll be honest, I had no idea what coffee tasting was like, so I didn't do it right, I didn't enjoy it, and I certainly couldn't determine the quality of the coffee. As we say here in Venezuela, the coffee scolded me after a couple of sips, and the rest was drunk by my friend V, who knows much more about coffee tasting than I do and who drinks much, much more coffee than I do. She said it was very good. Look how happy she was.

So, having warmed up, we continued on our way.

You could feel the love that went into every little corner of the café.

As we neared the end of our tour, we arrived at Café Flor de Arauca, a well-known brand in the area and, coincidentally, one of my friend V's favorites. They occupied a large space, and the atmosphere was like a nightclub, but familiar, with music at a moderate volume that allowed you to enjoy the festive atmosphere while still being able to converse comfortably.

A huge coffee strainer with an enormous cup adorned the center of the room.

We ordered a couple of cappuccinos and they brought them to our table. We didn't know they were on the house, so it seems that these people went all out by sharing their good coffee with the audience.

I really enjoyed this coffee, of course, as it had milk and even a little sugar 🙃

Thank you for joining us ☕️☕️

See you next time!
