Hace justamente una semana me encontraba en la playa con parte de la familia, luego de superar algunos obstáculos, incluso malos presentimientos de algunos, nos fuimos, principalmente por pasear a mi mamá...

La pasamos de maravilla

After confirming with my mom that day that she really wanted to get out and breathe some fresh air, around noon we were at the hotel where we stayed for a couple of nights.

Luego de confirmar ese día con mi mamá que ella realmente quería salir a respirar nuevos aires, ya a eso del mediodía estábamos en el hotel en el cual nos alojamos un par de noches.

On the one hand, some family members argued that the short trip was quite expensive given my mother's situation and other fixed expenses and some unforeseen events that arise due to her health.

And of course, they're right on one hand, but if so much has been invested in the illness and its after-effects, why not also invest in life, in the good times and the beautiful things that surround us?

I was the main instigator of this trip, along with my sister @carisma77 and my brother J, who was a fundamental part of this trip. My mother is in a wheelchair, and it takes a lot of strength for everything her daily life requires, especially a trip like this.

Por una parte, algunos miembros de la familia alegaban que el pequeño viaje suponía un gasto bastante alto dada la situación con mi mamá y otros gastos fijos y algunos imprevistos que surgen debido a su situación de salud.

Y claro, pues tienen razón por una parte, pero si se ha invertido tanto en la enfermedad y sus secuelas, porqué no invertir también en la vida, en los buenos momentos y en las cosas bonitas que nos rodean.

Yo fui la principal promotora de este viaje, junto a mi hermana @carisma77 y mi hermano J, quien fue una parte fundamental de este paseo. Mi madre está en silla de ruedas y hace falta bastante fuerza para todo lo que requiere su día a día y más un paseo como este.

She can take a few steps, very few, and while being supported. She can't even stand on her own. So with love, patience, and a good dose of physical strength, she was able to feel the life of the water between her feet.

Ella puede dar algunos pasos, muy pocos, y sostenida. Además tampoco se puede levantar sola. Entonces con amor, paciencia y una buena dosis de fuerza física pudo sentir la vida del agua entre sus pies.

Other siblings suggested that instead of my brother J, we take the woman who cares for my mother. My response was that my brother J should definitely go, since of all the men in the family, he's the one who has the time for it.

I know very well everything that caring for my mother entails. One of the most important things is physical strength, which I know very well from my own experience. I can't imagine the woman who cares for her pushing a wheelchair through the sand on the beach or carrying my mother up and down the hotel stairs in her wheelchair.

Otros hermanos propusieron que en lugar de que fuese mi hermano J, lleváramos a la Sra. que cuida a mi mamá. Mi respuesta fue que definitivamente mi hermano J debía ir, ya que de todos los hombres de la familia él es quien tenía el tiempo para esto.

Yo sé muy bien todo lo que implica el cuidado de mi mamá, una de las cosas fundamentales es tener fuerza física, lo sé muy bien por mi propia experiencia. No me imagino a la Sra. que la cuida empujando una silla de ruedas por la arena de la playa ni bajando y subiendo a mi mamá en silla de ruedas por las escaleras del hotel.

The fact is that my brother J's presence during those days didn't mean he was the only one making the greatest physical effort; he was very attentive to matters related to my mother's care, although he wasn't the one who took money out of her wallet for expenses. Some things are priceless in certain circumstances of life.

Es que la presencia de mi hermano J no supuso durante esos días solo quien hiciera el mayor esfuerzo físico, él es muy atento a los asuntos relacionados con el cuidado de mi mamá, aunque no es quien saque dinero de su cartera para los gastos, algunas cosas no tienen precio en determinadas circunstancias de la vida.

They were very pleasant moments, mainly made possible by the love of her children for their mother. Moments that will endure not only in the photographs but in beautiful memories that can only be built while we are alive.

Fueron momentos muy agradables, propiciados principalmente por el amor de sus hijos a su madre. Momentos que perdurarán no solo en las fotografías sino en bonitos recuerdos que solo se pueden construir mientras estamos vivos.
