Kira! 7 months running and playing 🐾 (Eng/Esp)

Today I have the opportunity to tell you about Kira, the puppy that has been living with my mom for 6 months, Kira arrived in December and it was unexpected at least for me... that same month I found out that my mom had plans to adopt a puppy and not even a week went by when we already had the new member at home, making a place for herself among the cushions 🤭.

She arrived very but very tiny, Kira's story is a little sad because she came from a house where they really wanted to get rid of all the puppies before their time, they told us she was three months old, as these people had heard that she was looking for a puppy, but of course they lied to us saying this, which was hard to believe. Kira did not know how to eat by herself, she was afraid of us and was looking for a warm place to cuddle and could barely run without falling down.

Then I advised my mom to take the dog back to her mom so she could come back in a few weeks. You know what happened? People refused and told us so calmly: "that's because she is one month old, she will grow out of it", it was evident that she was one month old, I repeated this to my mom several times but anyway, the good and happy part of this is that Kira although she needed the warmth of her mother managed to spend her first three months of life with much normality, she received her vaccines and continued growing, well something like that because we discovered that Kira would be a small dog, her short legs gave her away from the first day 🤭.

Today she is seven months old and although she is short, she jumps as high as a kangaroo, I think she feels she is very big because she always wants to play moving branches that are bigger than her 🤭.

Taking a picture of him is mission impossible (sometimes), since he always wants to play and when he sees us approaching with the phone he runs away so we can chase him. But finally, finally I have a picture where he is resting in total relax 😊 under a banana bush almost his size hehe!

You have already met Kira, my mom's companion, a puppy that had the opportunity to find a home where she can run, jump and be loved, our beloved Creole puppy. Making the decision to get a dog again is not easy, because many times we believe that it will not be the same and obviously it is, each puppy has its own personality and this develops as it gets to know the person who will be its companion.

So today I'm happy that my mother made the decision to give a new puppy a home after 15 years without one at home.... A long time to think, isn't it? But it takes awareness, responsibility and love to give a puppy a home. I hope the other dogs of the litter will find a home and above all a responsible family.

For now Kira will continue to be the spoiled and source of love and laughter in this home and if she suddenly becomes supergiant, I will let you know.

Hoy tengo la oportunidad de contarles sobre Kira, la cachorra que desde hace 6 meses vive junto a mi madre, Kira llegó en el mes de diciembre y fue inesperado al menos para mí... ese mismo mes me enteré de que mi mamá tenía planes de adoptar un perrito y no pasó ni una semana cuando en casa ya teníamos a la nueva integrante, haciéndose un lugar entre los cojines 🤭.

Llegó muy pero muy chiquita, la historia de Kira es un poco triste porque vino de una casa donde en realidad querían deshacerse de todos los cachorros antes de tiempo, nos dijeron que tenía tres meses, ya que estas personas habían escuchado que buscaba un perrito, pero por supuesto nos mintieron diciendo esto, cosa que era difícil de creer. Kira no sabía comer sola, nos tenía miedo y buscaba un lugar cálido para acurrucarse y apenas podía correr sin caerse.

Entonces le aconsejé a mi mamá que llevara de nuevo a la perrita con su mamá para que pudiera volver en unas semanas. ¿Saben qué pasó? Las personas se negaron y nos dijeron con tanta tranquilidad: "eso es porque tiene un mes, eso se le pasa", era evidente que tenía un mes, esto se lo repetí a mi mamá varias veces pero en fin, la parte buena y la parte feliz de esto es que Kira aunque necesito el calor de su madre logro pasar sus primeros tres meses de vida con mucha normalidad, recibió sus vacunas y siguió creciendo, bueno algo así porque descubrimos que Kira sería una perrita pequeña, sus patitas cortas la delataron desde el primer día 🤭

Hoy tiene siete meses y aunque es bajita, ella brinca tan alto como un canguro, creo que siente que es muy grande porque siempre quiere jugar moviendo ramas que son más grandes que ella 🤭.

Tomarle una foto es misión imposible (a veces), ya que siempre quiere jugar y cuando ve que nos acercamos con el teléfono sale corriendo para que le persigamos. Pero por fin, por fin tengo una foto donde está descansando en total relax 😊 debajo de una mata de cambur casi de su tamaño ¡jeje!

Ya conocieron a Kira, la compañerita de mi mamá, una cachorrita que tuvo la oportunidad de encontrar un hogar donde puede correr, brincar y ser amada, nuestra querida cachorrita criolla. Tomar la decisión de volver a tener un perro no es fácil, pues muchas veces creemos que no será igual y evidentemente así es, cada perrito tiene su personalidad y esta se desarrolla a medida que conoce a la persona que será su compañía.

Así que hoy me siento feliz de que mi madre tomara la decisión de darle un hogar a un nuevo cachorrito después de 15 años sin uno en casa... ¿Mucho tiempo para pensar, verdad? Pero es necesario ser consciente, responsable y además tener amor para darle un hogar a un cachorrito. Espero que los demás perros de la camada encontraran un hogar y sobre todo una familia responsable.

Por ahora Kira seguirá siendo la consentida y fuente de cariño y risas en este hogar y si de pronto se vuelve supergigante, yo se los haré saber.
