Today I'm going to recommend an anime that premiered around 2014 (more than 10 years ago... how fast time flies). This is a comedy, but beyond the humor and fun we'll see, it leaves us with a beautiful reflection on self-acceptance and the little things that can make us happy. SYNOPSIS / SUMMARY:

Umaru is a beautiful sixteen-year-old girl who is very popular in her town. She lives with her older brother, Taihei. She acts like the perfect sister; she's kind, intelligent, and popular; everyone admires her. However, how does the real Umaru behave at home? She does nothing but sleep, watch TV, play video games, eat junk food, and leave all the housework to her poor brother...

THE PERFECTION AND MESS OF OUR PROTAGONIST:

Umaru Doma, our protagonist, whom we'll discuss more in this post, has a very distinctive characteristic... Outside of home, and especially at school, she presents herself as a kind, brilliant, popular person, very good at sports, and admired by everyone. Her presence generates so much respect that she is seen as the ideal example of a student...

But not everything will be as ideal as it seems, because once she arrives home... she changes completely. Umaru "transforms" into what she really is: A lazy, messy girl, addicted to games, manga, anime, and especially eating snacks (Who would judge her... I like eating chips too).

And this is where much of the story unfolds, as Umaru lives with the pressure of maintaining an image of perfection and is afraid to show her "true self" because she might not be accepted as she is.

I think most people who have watched anime for many years (including me) can understand Umaru to a certain extent, as some things or situations weren't like the ones we enjoy now. Before, someone who liked anime/manga, video games, and other things was called "weird" or "strange."

As the chapters go by, Umaru gradually learns that she doesn't need to hide everything, as she can find sincere friendships at any moment and not be afraid of others judging her for who she is.

CHARACTERS WHO HELPED UMARU'S DEVELOPMENT:

Each of the characters I'll mention below represents a different part of Umaru's world, and how interacting with these people gradually teaches her to balance her life between social and personal life.

• Taihei Doma: Umaru's older brother, hardworking, responsible, and patient... we could say very patient, as he has to deal with Umaru's every whim (not to mention her messiness, laziness, and impressive ability to evade household responsibilities). Aside from each comical moment between these siblings, we'll also encounter situations filled with tenderness and family warmth.

• Ebina Nana: Umaru's neighbor, a very sweet, tender, and above all shy girl. She admires Umaru without knowing her "other self." Little by little, we see how our protagonist realizes that this is a sincere friendship, where little by little she forms a bond that goes far beyond being schoolmates.

• Kirie Motoba: At first, we may know her as a very intimidating person, but inside, she is very sweet. She is one of the first people to know Umaru's true side (But it turns out to be quite a mess since Umaru pretends to be someone else... a lot of back and forth happens), however, it can be said that she is one of the people who ends up understanding our protagonist the best.

• Sylphynford Tachibana (A very confusing name to write, I apologize in case I got confused hehe): She is Umaru's schoolmate... but with a small detail and that is that they are rivals for who has the best grades, she is very competitive and energetic... However, not everything is rivalry, since later she becomes a great friend.

DETAILS I TAKE AWAY FROM THIS ANIME:

• The amount of humor this anime has is indescribable! The story is full of exaggerated situations, comical expressions, and references within the anime world that we'll all understand, making each episode a combination of entertainment, random moments, and certain situations filled with a lot of value and emotion.
  

  

• Despite the humor and lighthearted tone, this anime also conveys some very beautiful messages and values, among them, and the most important, self-acceptance... not being afraid of being judged by others. Perhaps not everyone will understand our tastes or our very different personalities, but that doesn't stop us from having a sincere friendship.

• The balance between responsibilities and fun times. Just because I'm a very responsible person with my duties doesn't mean I don't have the right to have fun and at least have some time for myself... It's always important to take a little break and enjoy all the little things that make us happy.

I recommend this anime, because apart from being a lighthearted show (one we can watch to relax our minds without drama), it's also fun and entertaining. It maintains a genuine sense of humor, making it easy to connect with the characters, and, above all, with its message about self-acceptance and the importance of surrounding ourselves with people who love and value us just as we are.

El día de hoy les recomendaré un anime que se estrenó en 2014 aproximadamente (Hace más de 10 años... que rápido pasa el tiempo). Esta obra es del género de comedia, pero más allá del humor y la diversión que observaremos, nos deja una bonita reflexión sobre la aceptación personal y las pequeñas cosas que nos puede hacer feliz. SINOPSIS / RESUMEN:

Umaru es una bella chica de dieciséis años muy popular en su ciudad, la cual vive con su hermano mayor, Taihei. Se comporta como la hermana perfecta, es amable, inteligente y popular; todos la admiran. Sin embargo, ¿cómo se comporta la verdadera Umaru en casa? No hace más que dormir, ver televisión, jugar videojuegos, comer y comida chatarra, dejándole todas las tareas del hogar a su pobre hermano…

LA PERFECCIÓN Y EL DESORDEN DE NUESTRA PROTAGONISTA:

Umaru Doma, nuestra protagonista y de quien hablaremos mucho más en este post tiene una característica muy particular... Fuera de casa y sobre todo en la escuela se presenta como una persona amable, brillante, popular, muy buena en los deportes y admirada por todos. Su presencia genera tanto respeto que es vista como el ejemplo ideal de estudiante...

Pero no todo será ideal como aparenta, ya que una vez que llega a su hogar... ella cambia completamente. Umaru se "transforma" en lo que realmente es: Una chica perezosa, desordenada, adicta a los juegos, los mangas, animes y sobre todo a comer snacks (Quien la juzgaría... A mi también me gusta comer papitas).

Y aquí es donde se produce gran parte de la historia, como Umaru vive con la presión de mantener la imagen de la perfección y tiene miedo el mostrar su "verdadero yo" ya que puede no ser aceptada como es ella misma.

Creo que la mayoría de personas que miran anime durante muchos años (Incluyéndome) pueden comprender a Umaru hasta cierto punto, ya que algunas cosas o situaciones no eran como las que podemos disfrutar ahora... Antes se denominaba "raro" o "extraño" a la persona que le gustaban los animes / mangas, videojuegos y entre otras cosas.

Con el paso de los capítulos, Umaru aprende poco a poco que no necesita ocultarse de todo, ya que en cualquier momento puede encontrar amistades sinceras y no tener miedo a que los demás la juzguen por como es.

PERSONAJES QUE AYUDARON EL DESARROLLO DE UMARU:

Cada uno de los personajes que mencionaré a continuación, representa una parte distinta al mundo de Umaru, y como la interacción con esras personas le enseña poco a poco a equilibrar su vida entre lo social y lo personal.

• Taihei Doma: Hermano mayor de Umaru, trabajador, responsable y paciente... podríamos decir que muuuuy paciente ya que debe lidiar con cada ocurrencia de Umaru (Sin mencionar el desorden, la flojera y la habilidad impresionante que usa para evadir responsabilidades del hogar). Aparte de cada momento cómico entre estos hermanos, también estaremos con situaciones llenos de ternura y calidez familiar.

• Ebina Nana: La vecina de Umaru, una chica muy dulce, tierna y sobre todo tímida. Ella admira a Umaru sin saber su "otro yo". Poco a poco observaremos que nuestra protagonista se da cuenta que esta es una amistad sincera, donde poco a poco va formando un vínculo mucho más allá de ser compañeras de la escuela.

• Kirie Motoba: Al principio la podemos conocer como una persona muy intimidante, pero por dentro es muy tierna. Es una de las primeras personas que conoce la faceta verdadera de Umaru (Pero llega a ser todo un enredo ya que Umaru se hace pasar por otra persona... suceden muchas idas y vueltas), sin embargo se puede decir que es de las personas que termina comprendiendo mejor a nuestra protagonista.

• Sylphynford Tachibana (Un nombre muy confuso para escribir, pido las disculpas del caso en caso me haya confundido jeje): Es la compañera de escuela de Umaru... pero con un pequeño detalle y es que son rivales por quien tiene la mejores notas, es muy competitiva y energética... Sin embargo no todo es rivalidad, ya que más adelante se convierte en una gran amiga.

DETALLES QUE ME LLEVO DE ESTE ANIME:

• La cantidad de humor que tiene este anime es algo indescriptible!! La historia está llena de situaciones exageradas, expresiones cómicas y referencias dentro del mundo de anime que todos entenderemos lo cual hace que cada capítulo sea una combinación de entretenimiento, momentos random y ciertas situaciones llenas de mucho valor y sentimiento.
  

  

• A pesar de el humor y el tono ligero, este anime también deja mensajes y valores muy bonitos, entre ellos y el más importante es la aceptación de uno mismo... el no tener miedo a que nos juzguen los demás. Probablemente no todos entiendan nuestros gustos o con una personalidad muy distinta a la nuestra, pero eso no es impedimento a tener una amistad sincera.

• El equilibrio entre las responsabilidades y los momentos de diversión. El que sea una persona muy responsable con mis deberes no significa que no tenga el derecho de divertirme y tener al menos un tiempo para mí... Siempre será importante darse un pequeño descanso y de disfrutar de todas las cosas pequeñas que nos hacen feliz.

Recomiendo este anime, ya que muy aparte de ser una obra ligera (Que podemos ver para descansar la mente sin dramatizaciones), divertida y entretenida. Mantiene un humor genuino, es fácil conectar con los peronajes y sobre todo con el mensaje que nos habla sobre la aceptación personal y la importancia de rodearse de las personas que nos quieren y valoran tal cual como somos.
