Hello everyone! I hope it’s not too late to wish all my Hiver friends a Happy New Year 2026
I hope your dreams from 2025 came true, and if some didn’t, no worries — we still have 2026 to make them happen.

I’m back in Singapore again after enjoying a slow and peaceful life in my hometown. I had a great time with my family since everyone came home for the New Year. We had a nice barbecue, talked about life, and discussed big plans for our family’s future. I really wish I could stay there for good, but life must go on.

While I was in my village, I started making some plans to build a proper farm, as I might return home permanently in the middle of this year with my wife. I’m trying to make sure that everything I prepare can be managed properly, while also learning how the whole mechanism works, so I can expand it on a bigger scale in the future.

The first thing I did was build a hydroponic module at home. I hope my family can help me monitor it, and of course, they can enjoy the harvest as well. I thought it would be an easy job because, in my opinion, building a hydroponic module isn’t that difficult. However, the reality is that to make a fully working system, I needed to build a proper structure so the water could flow from a higher place to a lower place without being wasted in the middle of the pipes.

The next step was preparing the water medium with the proper fertilizer. As a beginner, this wasn’t easy because I had to learn which fertilizer is suitable for green vegetables. Another important thing to take care of is the water pH, which must be around 5.5 to 6.8. Otherwise, the vegetables will become stunted — which actually happened.

Technically , I has learned a quick solution is to add citric acid if the pH is higher than 7.0, or a small amount of baking soda if it drops below 5.5, to bring it back to the ideal range. I made a mistake by not teaching this properly to my family while I was in Singapore during Christmas, which caused the water pH to remain uncorrected for weeks. Still, every mistake is part of the learning process and helps us do better in the future.

I’ll share more about this once I start on a bigger scale in the future. Please pray for me and wish me success in this project.

I have more to say, but I think I’ll stop here and continue tomorrow. I’m getting sleepy now. Good night, everyone.
