Ozark Trail 6 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Light

By: Camping Guidance

This video reviews the Ozark Trail 10-Person Family Cabin Tent and its ability to withstand rain. The rainfly only partially covers the tent, and because the roof is curved, water does not collect at the top and instead drips down. However, the rainfly is quite small and does not cover the window mesh, so it is best to keep them closed. The flooring of the tent is about five inches and the seam connecting the blue part of the tent to the flooring is not taped or sealed, so water was leaking through that seam. The vertical seams on the tent body are all taped up to a certain point, but the bottommost horizontal seam is not taped and there was a lot of leaking through this seam. The windows seams are all taped, and the door is completely taped as well. After 15 minutes of mostly light rain and some moderate rainfall, some water was already seeping through the blue fabric of the tent. There are some large holes where the guylines are connected to the main tent body, but they are high up and water won't leak through them. Overall, this tent is not waterproof and will likely be flooded in a downpour. There is no vestibule, so shoes will get wet in the rain. It is recommended to use this tent only when not expecting rain, or if waterproofing it on your own.
