Leverpresso vs Nanopresso

This review compares the Leverpresso and Nanopresso portable hand-held espresso makers. The Leverpresso holds a maximum of 20g of coffee with a similar amount of water, while the Nanopresso holds a maximum of 8g coffee to 70ml of water. The Leverpresso uses folding levers to move a plunger up and down the water chamber, while the Nanopresso uses an internal pump with a piston that pops out the side of the unit. The Nanopresso is more forgiving on grind quality, while the Leverpresso requires a more precise grind size in order to pour a nice looking and tasting shot.
Both brewers come with similar accessories, such as a screw on cup for brewing and a tool that acts as a dosing and tamping tool. The Leverpresso has more metal parts, making it a little heavier but perhaps more durable. The Nanopresso is made completely from resilient food grade plastic and won’t break even if accidentally dropped.
The Nanopresso comes with extra filter baskets, a Nespresso Pods attachment, and a thermos mug to extend the quantity of hot water you can carry. The Leverpresso has a pressurized portafilter basket and a stand that can be purchased separately. In the end, it’s up to the user to decide which brewer is best for them.
