Over the years I have travelled to Las Vegas many, many times. Several times for work related conventions and various others just for the fun of it. One habit that I picked up on those trips was collecting Silver Strike tokens, which are commemorative tokens that are paid out of Silver Strike Slot Machines. Some are bronze and the bigger prize of pure silver. I always preferred the silver variety, since I am a bit of a silver bug. I quickly learned the least expensive way to buy these was to head to local pawn shops in Vegas, not by playing the slot machines! They aren't called one-armed bandits for no reason at all!

My preference for collecting has always been for those tokens from casinos that are now defunct. However, there are many exceptions that I have picked up over the years. Today I'll be sharing one of those exceptions, it's a token I picked up as part of a group purchase. I wasn't particularly interested in this one, but after I received it I found out it's really interesting!

This was produced for the Gaming Global Expo show that takes place in Las Vegas each year. There vendors can display and demonstrate new gaming technology in hopes of selling to casinos. This was a commemorative produced by the Silver Strike Slot Machine makers in 2002 just for the expo and given out exclusively for the event. Have a look:

This token contains 0.6 Troy ounces of pure silver surrounded by a brass ring. I'm not sure how many were minted, but it's kind of a cool collectible. Is it the pride of my collection? Not by far, but still an interesting token. Not being in the gambling industry I've never been to one the expos, but they might be interesting. But my next trip to Las Vegas most certainly won't be scheduled around this event. There are just so many other exciting things do to around the city!

Silver and gold are the place to invest right now. According to Bank of America they foresee gold staying around $4500 while silver could end up anywhere from $125 all the way up to $309 per Troy once in 2026. Considering that silver is just a touch under $80 it looks like the better investment at the moment! Silver is critically short of supply around the world and will drive prices higher and higher as the year continues. Right now is still a good time to buy in my eyes, with lot of room left for profit.

Just look at the above chart of silver prices over the last year. It really says all you need to know. Invest in silver before it explodes to ever higher highs.

That will do it for me today, I hope you enjoyed my post. Please feel free to leave any questions or comments below. As always, thank you for all of your support, it's greatly appreciated. Have a great weekend everyone!
