Let's Get the Spring Fishing Started!

It was a chilly March morning. I recall the temperature had just cracked 40 degrees Fahrenheit as I was pulling up in the parking lot near the lake. The sun ultimately pushed it up over 60, and that was plenty warm enough for my happy ass to start this year's fishing excursions.
It was a good hour before I'd caught much anything besides a runny nose and a warm sunrise. The reflection of the moon across the still water in combination with a rolling fog, kept my senses sharp and entertained.

Refreshing, isn't it? After that long hour had past, I started to catch a few things as the cold-blooded specimens started to thaw out. I didn't catch a whole lot worth bragging about, but there were a few that, given different circumstances, I would have cleaned and put in the freezer.

The craw brand was Googan (Squad) Baits. I very rarely use live bait anymore, but seem to try what #MTB (Mystery Tackle Box) sends me. They love Googan and so do I.
Now, I have fat thumbs, a little over an inch in diameter and close to three inches of circumference. Moving forward, that will help you gauge the size of fish I catch and show using my 'bass thumb'. This one above, is just under two pounds, but was big enough to call it a successful day.
Successful and good, are different now. Any day fishing is a good day, but not all fishing trips are successful 😄. Stay tuned for some more spring largemouth coming your way and REMEMBER, there's always a bigger fish.
