Touch of Ownership

It has been a long day of yard work today, as I had nothing else important to do. I won't call it gardening, as it was just loading a trailer with all the cuttings and leaves we collected the other day, but there was one thing that wiped me out a bit. When we moved in here five years ago and started cutting back the jungle that was our garden, we had to collect a lot of loose bricks from around the place of various assortment in style, and we put them into a pile. As you can imagine, that pile has stayed there for a long time, but now with our plans going ahead, they had to be moved.

I had to move them.

I am not sure how many I moved, but there were many and they had been there so long, grass was growing over the top of them, and it was a cosy little home for about a zillion centipedes - and a lot of spiders. I hate spiders, but since living in Finland for a long time where none of them are deadly, I have softened a bit and no longer scream like a 1950s cartoon housewife at the sight of a mouse.

A guy who helps us out with odd jobs for some cash in hand work, brought his trailer around last night, and we will pay him to take it to the dump, where he will sort it into the appropriate piles for whatever they do with it. Some things they recycle, and the plant material they turn into mulch and soil and sell, but it is a pretty good service they run at these places. They aren't just random landfills at least.

I did about five hours straight of brick lifting and branch cutting and loading, and when my wife came home from work, the first thing she said was - there is a pile of stuff at the front still.

At least the guy that helps us gets paid.

But yes, I am pretty tired and was finishing up some tasks for some work tomorrow, but then remembered that it is Hive power-up day, so powered up another 500 HIVE, mostly because it is April Fool's Day, and I am a fool. I haven't been very regular with keeping up with the 1st of the month powerups, but instead just do when I can or want. I have bought some of late though, so hopefully things will one day turn around and these purchases will be worth significantly more than I paid.

10x would do nicely.

20x would be better.

But, it is going to be a while perhaps before things settle in the global economy enough for people to feel safe playing into the crypto markets to drive a strong bullrun. In an hour or two "Liberation Day" tariffs are going to be announced, so that is something to look forward to.

A little more crazy.

The average person has so little control over their financial lives because of government control and activity, that it is farcical. Even the wealthy are at the whims of government, although they can do more of what they want in their life, so it seems that they are freer. They aren't freer, they are just as controlled as the rest for the most part, but they earn so much that they can buy better cage conditions for themselves.

Ownership is key.

I wish that everyone would take a day to reflect on the importance of ownership, because I think that if people did, they would realise they need to wrest more control back into their own hands, rather than giving control over to the governments and various rent-seeking proxies. But, it is hard to do, because when we have the ability to decide for ourselves, we also own the results.

And talking of owning it - my body is saying get some fucking rest you idiot so I will leave it here, a little abruptly, and get into comments later. It is rare for me to listen to my body, but I am trying.

Did you remember to power up?
Do you own a slice more of the network?
