My Favorite Pastime
Funny the header is a picture of a puzzle, because that is my al time favorite pastime. I’m sure I’ve told this story several times before in other blog posts as I have written about my love for puzzles. While I did have others as a child, puzzles are the one thing that has stayed with me all my life no matter where I was or what I was doing. I also liked all crafts, mostly anything to do with the use of yarns and strings. I liked crocheting, knitting, sewing, macramé, embroidery, rug making with latch hook, I liked projects with beading, and so many other crafts. As am adult I still love crafts but don’t have the attention span for it the way I use to.
What I have done all through my life though is sewing & puzzles.

How I Got Started
Sewing - My father was a tailor & owned a tailor shop, so he taught my sisters & I how to sew on the sewing machine. Later, I learned how to make & use patterns to make practically anything. After I got older, I began to make things without using patterns. Till this very day I have a sewing machine & make clothes and other items without using patterns. I don't sew as much as I used to but more like when I need to make repairs or alterations.

Puzzles – This is my true favorite pastime. When U was about 5 yrs old, my father would sit on the floor with me & help put a puzzle together. I still remember him showing me how to put the frame together first, and then match the shape of the pieces together. We would sit & do puzzles as often as possible and it was the one thing that has never left me. Til this very day I do puzzles one after the other. There are times when my life gets busy & there’s no time for my puzzles, but I always find time to do my puzzles, even if it’s just an hour or two.
They are relaxing for me and I like to do puzzles of all sizes. Over the past tens years or so I have completed at least 1000 or more puzzles. I presently have about 100 or more puzzles waiting to be done. I glue them when I’m done so they are more like pictures. I like to do puzzles of at least 500 pieces but will do smaller ones as well as lager ones. The largest puzzle I ever done was 5000 pieces. I recently told my daughter that I wanted a puzzle I saw with 551,232 pieces. This puzzle is 49 X 76 feet & cost $229.00 (USD).
