Introduction

@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!

Our picks

Not sure what to say as our introduction this week. I mean she is the OG diva, a legend and the queen of soul. Growing up around the tradition of Gospel and singing she went on to have hit after hit after hit. To read more about her give the wiki a read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aretha_Franklin However she was one of a kind and I am not sure there will ever be a more influential or passionate and talented soul singer on the top of the charts.

Song 1

Apart from the brilliantly controlled vocal and positive message what else do we hear on this track "Respect". brilliant backing vocals, cool brass arrangements and a beat as steady as a brick wall.

Song 2

This is a great song and a classic. It has the classic backing vocals you would expect as well as the nice chord progressions and break downs. A little live performance video for this one! I think the best performers make it look effortless. If you see her here, she does not overdo it but she effortlessly produces something powerful. If I tried to sing this I would be going red in the face and spluttering!

Song 3

Now for my third choice I picked the song from one of the most prestigious musical films of all time which is also very funny. This is such a great turn my her and it is a great song, choreographed in a relevant and powerful way! It is a great song with some great lyrics. It has a classic soul feel and backing and really gets you moving! If you have not seen this film then I would definitely recommend it!
