Fall Morning at the lake

Fall morning at Lake Dunmore with low hanging fog.
Lovely morning at the lake. Great fall vibe. 34F. Crisp. Clear sky. Low fog lying on the water. Geese honking. Perfect 🙂
Flat water in the marina. The lake had a little chop but the reflections are perfect behind the protection of the island in the marina.
The pass out of the marina leads into the mystery of the lake obscured by the fog.
Tall maple in front of the house is changing. Its a Red maple (Acer rubrum) is also known as scarlet maple, swamp maple, soft maple, Carolina red maple, Drummond red maple, or water maple. Mostly referred to as a swamp maple around here. Not to be confused with Japanese maples that have red leaves year round.
Afternoon light reveals more of the colors. Swamp maples are not a pretty as sugar maples. They will change to all red but often end up brown or dropping leaves. Just not as spectacular as the sugar maples.
