Introduction
This week's theme is basically traveling. I think it will be difficult for anyone to choose an absolute location that they liked more than all the others during our travels. It is known that most people love to travel, I believe it is part of human nature that discovering new lands and places makes us better.
Traveling is like going towards something unknown, we love breathing new air in seeing landscapes or places with stories totally different from the places we live in.
Below we see in detail what was the trip I took and that remained in my heart, the place is called Santorini.

Talking to some people who had already been to Santorini, it seemed that this place was one of the most beautiful places they had visited in the past. I even remember that a colleague of mine said that in his opinion it was the most beautiful place in the world.
About 10 years ago, we decided to take a holiday in Greece and for the first time we visited Santorini. As soon as I arrived I immediately had the feeling that whoever told me about Santorini was right.
Santorini is a jewel set in the Aegean Sea. It is a volcanic island that offers breathtaking landscapes wherever you are and at any angle. The volcanic eruption that shaped Santorini seems to have occurred 3600 years ago.
As soon as you arrive you immediately notice its imposing cliffs born from an ancient eruption.
In the end I had to admit that whoever told me about Santorini was right. Santorini shows people one of the most suggestive panoramas in the world.

As I wrote before, Santorini is a volcanic island and is part of the Cyclades archipelago.
Walking around Santorini is already a spectacle in itself. This place offers a great variety of panoramic routes and it is very nice to explore the island on foot as you can fully enjoy the various views that this place offers.
Here are the most famous and spectacular trails:
-Fira-Oia Trail
-Skaros Rock Path
-Perissa - Ancient Thera - Kamar
-Akrotiri - Red Beach
-Karavolades Stairs
Walks along the crest of the caldera offer breathtaking views that are difficult to replicate due to the fact that it is a volcanic island formed by nature many years ago. Furthermore, walking around Santorini you come across Akrotiri, an ancient Minoan city buried under volcanic ash. Walking near the red beach of Akrotiri is very special, it feels like being on Mars.
The staircase of 600 steps that connects the port of Santorini to Fira can be scary because of the effort, but I swear that I didn't feel it because you are so surrounded by the beauty of the landscape that the effort is almost cancelled out (I admit that at the time I was almost 40 years old).
Santorini architecture
Santorini architecture is a perfect balance between tradition and adaptation to the volcanic environment.
The houses on the island are usually cubic and low, built in local stone, with round roofs and colored blue.
I remember well that I was amazed by the urban planning care of this place. It was almost practically impossible to distinguish the new houses from the historic ones.
In this place, very specific construction constraints were imposed in which the new buildings in certain areas absolutely had to have the same architectural idea of the houses built in the past. Probably this thing also contributed to making this place so beautiful, as the beauty of the past has been preserved and renewed.
Conclusions
My favorite place I have visited during the various trips I have made has been Santorini, a volcanic island located in Greece. Santorini is a place that seems suspended between myth and reality, perfect for those seeking beauty and wonder.

Introduzione
Il tema di questa settimana è praticamente viaggiare. Credo che sarà difficile per chiunque scegliere una località in assoluto che sia piaciuta di più di tutte le altre durante i nostri viaggi. È noto che la maggior parte delle persone adori viaggiare, credo che faccia parte della natura umana il fatto che scoprire terre e posti nuovi ci renda migliori.
Viaggiare è come andare incontro a qualcosa di ignoto, adoriamo respirare un’aria nuova nel vedere paesaggi o posti con storie totalmente diverse dai luoghi in cui viviamo.
Qui di seguito vediamo nel dettaglio qual è stato il viaggio che ho fatto e che mi è rimasto nel cuore, il posto si chiama Santorini.

Parlando con alcune persone che erano già state a Santorini, sembrava che questo luogo fosse uno dei luoghi più belli che essi avessero visitato in passato. Ricordo addirittura che un mio collega disse che secondo lui era il posto più bello del mondo.
Circa 10 anni fa, abbiamo deciso di fare una vacanza in Grecia e per la prima volta abbiamo visitato Santorini. Appena arrivati ho avuto subito la sensazione che chi mi aveva parlato di Santorini aveva proprio ragione.
Santorini è un gioiello incastonato nel Mar Egeo. È un’isola vulcanica che presenta paesaggi mozzafiato in qualsiasi posto ci si possa trovare ed a qualsiasi angolazione. L’eruzione vulcanica che ha dato la forma a Santorini sembra che sia avvenuta 3600 anni fa.
Appena si arriva si notano subito le sue scogliere imponenti nate da un’antica eruzione.
Alla fine ho dovuto ammettere che chi mi aveva parlato di Santorini aveva ragione. Santorini mostra alla gente uno dei panorami più suggestivi al mondo.

Come ho scritto prima, Santorini è un’isola vulcanica e fa parte dell’arcipelago delle Cicladi.
Passeggiare per Santorini è già di per sé uno spettacolo. Questo luogo offre una grandissima varietà di percorsi panoramici ed è molto bello esplorare l’isola a piedi in quanto puó godere appieno le varie viste che questo luogo offre.
Qui di seguito i sentieri più conosciuto e spettacolari:
-Sentiero Fira-Oia
-Skaros Rock Path
-Perissa - Antica Thera - Kamar
-Akrotiri - Spiaggia Rossa
-Scale di Karavolades
Le passeggiate lungo la cresta della caldera offrono viste mozzafiato e difficilmente ripetibili proprio per il fatto che è un'isola vulcanica formata dalla natura tantissimi anni fa. Inoltre passeggiando per Santorini ci si imbatte a Akrotiri, un’antica città minoica sepolta sotto la cenere vulcanica. Camminare nei pressi della spiaggia rossa di Akrotiri è molto particolare, sembra di essere su Marte.
La scalinata di 600 scalini che collega il porto di Santorini a Fira può spaventare per la fatica, ma giuro che io non l’ho sentita per il motivo che si è talmente avvolti dalla bellezza del paesaggio che la fatica viene quasi annullata (ammetto che a suo tempo avevo quasi 40 anni).
L’architettura di Santorini
L’architettura di Santorini è un equilibrio perfetto tra la tradizione e l’adattamento all’ambiente vulcanico.
Le case dell’isola solitamente sono cubiche e basse costruite in pietra locale, con i tetti tondi e colorati di blu.
Ricordo bene che rimasi stupito dalla cura urbanistica di questo posto. Era quasi praticamente impossibile distinguere le abitazioni nuove, da quelle storiche.
In questo posto sono stati imposti dei vincoli costruttivi molto precisi in cui le nuove costruzioni in certe zone dovevano assolutamente avere la stessa idea architettonica delle abitazioni costruite nel passato. Probabilmente anche questa cosa ha contribuito a rendere questo posto così bello, in quanto si è conservata e rinnovata la bellezza di un tempo.
Conclusioni
La mia località preferita che ho visitato durante i vari viaggi che ho fatto è stata Santorini, un'isola vulcanica che si trova in Grecia. Santorini è un luogo che sembra sospeso tra mito e realtà, perfetto per chi cerca bellezza e meraviglia.
