Dinner with friends, valuing the special moments of life (ENG - SPA)

A few weeks ago I met a friend to celebrate her birthday, but it got dark and I could not return to the city where I live, so she invited me to sleep at her mother's house and in exchange for her hospitality I invited her to dinner some delicious hot dogs.

We had dinner in a store near the house where we would sleep, it was clean and the food smelled very good, after we sat down her brother who is also my friend, I had several months without seeing him, but the last time I saw him, he was very sick and could not move, his whole body was paralyzed by the stress he was living and that time I sincerely thought he would not recover, I left his house sad and with little hope.

That day my friend had just come from receiving dialysis, one of the three a week, he had had a very complicated day, since 10 in the morning he was connected, but all his treatment was prolonged because they suspended the water to the medical center and then the electricity went out, the normal chaos in which we live. In spite of having spent the whole day receiving treatment and not having lunch at 8 o'clock at night, he had a smile on his face.

At first glance he looks so healthy, he has a healthy look and a zest for life like few others, he is active working as a university professor and doing various projects and personal ventures, he travels regularly to the capital and also spends quality time with his young children who are undoubtedly his strength and inspiration to keep going.

That night he arrived just as we had been served our hot dogs, but there was time to give him some as well. Between laughs and jokes, I dropped my hot dog on the table, but there was nothing to regret, they were divine and the best of all was the pleasant company.

Seeing my friend with so much calmness fills me with happiness, seeing him happy and eager to work, produce and dream for the welfare of his children makes me admire his strength, he does not think about the time he has left and is no longer desperately looking for a kidney transplant, he decided to live without complaints and facing the responsibility that belongs to him. I look at him and see only a miracle, he fills me with humility and gratitude for the health I have and I think that in his place I would have given up. Love is his vital source.

Cena con amigos, valorando los momentos especiales de la vida

Hace unas semanas me encontré con una amiga para celebrar su cumpleaños, pero se hizo de noche y no pude regresar a la ciudad donde yo vivo, por eso ella me invitó a dormir en la casa de su madre y a cambio de su hospitalidad la invité a cenar unos ricos perros calientes.

Cenamos en un negocio cerca de la casa donde dormiriamos, estaba limpio y la comida olía muy bien, al rato de sentarnos pasó su hermano quien también es mi amigo, tenía varios meses sin verlo, pero la última vez que lo vi, él estaba muy enfermo y no podía moverse, tenía todo su cuerpo paralizado por el estrés que estaba viviendo y en esa oportunidad sinceramente pensé que no se recuperaría, me fui de su casa triste y con pocas esperanzas.

Ese día mi amigo venía justamente de recibir diálisis, uno de los tres que realiza a la semana, había tenido un día muy complicado, desde las 10 de la mañana estaba conectado, pero se prolongó todo su tratamiento porque les suspendieron el agua al centro médico y después se fue la electricidad, el caos normal en el que vivimos. A pesar de haber pasado todo el día recibiendo tratamiento y no haber almorzado a las 8 de la noche, tenía una sonrisa en su rostro.

A simple vista se ve tan sano, tiene un aspecto saludable y una ganas de vivir como pocos, se mantiene activo trabajando como profesor universitario y realizando varios proyectos y emprendimientos personales, viaja regularmente a la capital y además pasa tiempo de calidad con sus pequeños hijos quienes son sin lugar a dudas su fuerza e inspiración para seguir adelante.

Esa noche él llegó justo cuando nos habían servido nuestros perros calientes, pero dio tiempo de brindarle unos también. Entre risas y bromas, se me cayó mi perro caliente en la mesa, pero no hubo nada que lamentar, estaban divinos y lo mejor de todo fue la grata compañía.

Ver a mi amigo, con tanto sosiego me llena de felicidad, verlo feliz y con ganas de trabajar, producir y soñar para el bienestar de sus hijos me hace admirar su fortaleza,éll no piensa en el tiempo que le queda y ya no busca desesperado un trasplante de riñón, él decidió vivir sin quejas y afrontando la responsabilidad que le pertenece. Lo miró y solo veo un milagro, me llena de humildad y agradecimiento por la salud que poseo y pienso que yo en su lugar me hubiese dado por vencida. El amor es su fuente vital.
