Giving some buzz back to #saturdaysavers? PLUS the SLOTH tipbot is back!

Good evening buzzers, it's come to our attention that #SaturdaySavers won't be returning this year! This comes as a big shock to us, as we loved the weekly incentives for sharing our progress and staying active on Hive, striving towards our goals one slothly step at a time!

So much love and respect goes to Shanibear, who ran this program for the last 5 years through the Eddie-Earner account! We'd love to extend a hand to her to help her run the weekly events via Sloth.Buzz. We're assuming that having a place to post these weekly posts isn't the main reason #SaturdaySavers has stopped, so we're thinking of running it ourselves.

Whilst we see #SaturdaySavers has a great community following, we're looking to touch base to see if there's real interest in continuing this program. We know Hive can be... 'trying' at times, but as a community we need to come together and make the best of what we have!

With the launch of the NEW (Still in development but live!)

site, the addition of
(Our Shortform area) and our looming Mobile Wallet/Hive Mobile APP, we think we're in a great position to relaunch this awesome program and help the Hivians continue to buzz!

I'll be honest, we don't want to steal this idea from Shanibear (or anyone else considering taking it on). Having run many events over Hive, we know the time and dedication that goes into doing weekly pots and keeping track of all the data. However, we feel this is one program that would truly be a loss to the Hive ecosystem, and can be done by anyone. That being said, we simply mean it doesn't require coding/dev skills, only time and effort, which the Sloth can add to Hive!

We're shamelessly going to tag all the #Saturdaysavers here, and please give us your feedback. Would you like to see #SaturdaySavers continue, does anyone want to voulenteer to do the weekly posts, do you have any ideas for changes/improvements that can be made. And I guess, does anyone want to 'sponsor' prizes for weekly/yearly activity?

We'll be combing over the old SaturdaySavers posts and FAQ's. Trying to get everything 'just right' for the community. We look forward to your opinions, and wish Shanibear and all the Savers the best for 2026! (We've got our eyes peeled on what Shanibear has up her sleeve next, who knows, maybe it'll be something that knocks the Saturdaysaver idea out of the park and we won't need to 'relaunch' it!)

A little side note, if we do take it on, chances are it'll be 'rebranded' slightly. Mostly because we're not sure we can commit to Saturday posting! So, it may become the #SlothSavers challenge? Becuase Slow and Steady wins the race! We will probably be looking to do the weekly posts on a Thursday. I don't think there are any 'main' posting events on a Thursday? I may be overlooking something, though, and of course, you can still post any day of the week for the saving challenge! At the end of the day all those little savings add up over time!

We were only informed of Saturdaysavers stopping this morning after overlooking the announcement a few weeks back. If you intend to run this, or similar programs, please let us know, we're happy to assist in any way we can.

Now, onto another little buzz! As we mentioned, our 'Sloth.Buzz' site is undergoing a transformation. One such aspect is the offering of 'services'. To test the idea, the dev set up a 'tipbot' service allowing us to reactivate our Sloth.Buzz tip bot!

Simply replying to a post/comment with !SLOTH or !SLOTHBUZZ should now fire the tipbot to drop a $SlothBuzz token tip and vote for the post, boosting SlothBuzz's curatorial vote!
