Can you go to Cambridge and not go punting? The technical answer is yes. While preparing for the trip I saw many people-- talking about punting. While in Cambridge I saw so many people-- punting.

What is punting you ask? It is a mode of transportation where you ride in a flat bottomed boat and someone stands on the bow of the boat and moves it along with a long pole.

It is also a nice relaxing way to see the Backs or the backs of many of the Cambridge colleges, those that line the river Cam.

It is an extremely popular activity in Cambridge. I read that "today there are probably more punts on the Cam than on any other river in England".

The first week in Cambridge, I just watched the punters. The second week, my friend Shay came so we went punting together!

There are a lot of people/ students selling tickets for different types of rides/ tours. Shay and I chose a tour that was about an hour long for £20 or $26. The boat could hold 8 people and there was a family of 4 and Shay and I. I think it was worth the cost for the experience of punting. I like doing unique experiences, especially when they are location specific. I also rode a gondola in Venice. I couldn't do either in Arizona!
