John's colleague at his new workplace realized a little know fact of him after 6 months working today, John seems to be suffering from a fear of buttons known medically as koumpounophobia. They have never seen him wearing a button shirt, he is mostly in a same design tee shirt but of different colour to work daily. Even on functions where he has to wear button shirt, he would have those in a larger size tailor made and so he can wear them like a tee shirt and wear over them and not having to button them.

So Irene being curious and one of John's closer friend in the new workplace has been tasked by the team to find out more from him if he really has a phobia for buttons.

John was pretty direct and upfront when asked over lunch by Irene, he indeed has a phobia from button he developed as a kid after a near death experience as a kid. John shared with Irene that he was sent to A&E as a kid after he accidentally choke on a button from his mother's sewing kit as a child when he mistakenly took it a M&M chocolate and place one into his mouth and he choked on it shortly and had to be sent to A&E, since then he developed a phobia for buttons and would avoid having one on himself, but lucky for him, he is ok with seeing it or seeing others wearing it, he just avoids it on himself.
