Rumbo: cuando hacer una pausa te ayuda a seguir mejor [esp-eng]

Estamos finalizando un año escolar que no ha sido para nada sencillo, ni para los estudiantes, ni para los docentes. Estamos sufriendo aún las secuelas del covid-19 donde las clases no fueron presenciales donde al regresar tuvimos clases por pocos días a la semana, en fin y si todo esto le sumamos el desánimo y la poca o escasa motivación que hay tanto de los estudiantes como del docente termina por generar todo un caos.

Después de este largo año decidimos tomarnos un tiempo para pausar las clases de evaluaciones, actividades y los diferentes compromisos que no puedo acompañar. Resulta importante resaltar como a pesar de que convivimos día tras día en un mismo espacio aún no terminamos de conectar, no sabemos con quién o junto a quién estamos caminando, podemos compartir las mismas clases el mismo horario los mismos profesores y hasta mil y una preocupación pero la gran pregunta es realmente es ¿nos conocemos? Sabemos ¿quién está a nuestro lado?

Por eso hoy quisimos hacer una pausa y dejar todo esto de lado y compartir de nuestro tercer campamento estudiantil, el cual tuvo como finalidad no solamente un tiempo recreacional, sino hacer una pausa y reflexionar para reconectar o reencontrar el rumbo de lo que realmente queremos.

No puedo negar que realizamos una serie de actividades, juegos, dinámicas, comida, actividades o deportes libres y que todo esto generó un disfrute para todos los que estábamos allí, nos reímos, compartimos, disfrutamos, pero lo realmente importante y resaltante en todo esto es que nos redescubrimos como grupo, como institución educativa o en otras palabras dejamos de ser secciones para hacer un todo.

Aquí no nos enfocábamos en las secciones o estudiantes que conformaban un grupo aquí era un todo convivir con quienes usualmente tropezamos en el pasillo o en el tiempo de recreo. Es grandioso ver y constatar como el salir del espacio escolar les permite abrir el corazón, en medio de risas, juegos y otras actividades compartidas se tejieron nuevos lazos, por lo tanto algo se transformó.

Y es que muchas veces pensamos que el rumbo se encuentra yendo más rápido o corriendo y sin darnos cuenta nos perdemos de la verdadera esencia de la vida, no disfrutamos de cada momento por eso querido amigo lector la invitación de hoy es a detenerte a mirar a tu alrededor, descubre quiénes son tus compañeros de viaje.

Muchas veces pensamos de manera equivocada que nuestro grupo de estudio tiene que ser únicamente con los que compartimos en clase y estamos limitando nuestro círculo, a veces debemos expandirnos un poco e interactuar con otros en muchas oportunidades los grupos han cambiado y si no hemos logrado conectar desde antes nos puedes costar trabajar en un nuevo rumbo que vamos a iniciar.

Aquí definitivamente hubo un tiempo muy bonito, realizamos una fogata para compartir una hermosa reflexión e interactuar con los jóvenes donde se invitaron a indagar ¿que están soñando en este momento? ¿Cuáles son sus temores más grandes? ¿Qué es lo que los caracteriza y los hace único? ¿Que les permite mantenerse conectados? No importa cuál es tu origen siempre tenemos algo en común y las emociones no se escapan de ellos, muchas veces debemos ser empáticos y saber que detrás de ese uniforme, de sus caras, de su vivir diario hay una historia que quiere ser escuchada y sobre todo expresarles que no están solos y que cuentan con nosotros sus profesores.

Fueron muchos los momentos bonitos compartidos, pero hay algo que no puedo borrar de mi mente y son las imágenes de ver el trabajo en equipo cómo se organizaban de manera ardua para lograr vencer cada uno de los desafíos y dinámicas planteadas. La participación siempre estuvo a flor de piel, hubo disposición, muchas risas, pero también se contó con la colaboración de la empatía de cada uno de esos jóvenes, lo cual fue increíble ver como todos iban dirigidos hacia un mismo rumbo.

We're wrapping up a school year that hasn't been easy at all, for both students and teachers. We're still suffering the aftereffects of COVID-19, where classes weren't in-person, and when we returned, we had classes only a few days a week. Add to all this the discouragement and the lack of motivation among both students and teachers, and it all adds up to complete chaos.

After this long year, we decided to take some time to pause classes, assessments, activities, and the various commitments I can't keep up with. It's important to highlight how, even though we live together day after day in the same space, we still don't fully connect. We don't know who we're walking with or next to. We may share the same classes, the same schedule, the same teachers, and a thousand other worries, but the big question is, do we really know each other? Do we know who's by our side?

That's why today we wanted to take a break and put all of this aside and share our third student camp, which was not only a recreational opportunity, but also a time to pause and reflect, reconnecting with or finding our way back to what we truly want.

I can't deny that we carried out a series of activities, games, dynamics, food, activities or free sports and that all of this generated enjoyment for all of us who were there. We laughed, shared, enjoyed ourselves, but the truly important and outstanding thing in all of this is that we rediscovered ourselves as a group, as an educational institution or, in other words, we stopped being sections to become a whole.

Here, we didn't focus on individual sections or students who made up a group; here, it was a whole, connecting with those we usually bump into in the hallway or at recess. It's wonderful to see and appreciate how leaving the school environment allows them to open their hearts. Amid laughter, games, and other shared activities, new bonds were forged, and something was transformed.

And it's that many times we think that the path is found by going faster or running and without realizing it we miss the true essence of life, we don't enjoy every moment, that's why, dear reader, today's invitation is to stop and look around you, discover who your traveling companions are.

Many times we mistakenly think that our study group has to be only with those we share in class and we are limiting our circle, sometimes we must expand a little and interact with others in many opportunities the groups have changed and if we have not managed to connect before it can be difficult for us to work in a new direction that we are going to start.

There was definitely a very nice time here. We had a bonfire to share a beautiful reflection and interact with the young people where they were invited to inquire What are they dreaming about right now? What are their biggest fears? What characterizes them and makes them unique? What allows them to stay connected? No matter what your origin is, we always have something in common and emotions do not escape them. Many times we must be empathetic and know that behind that uniform, their faces, their daily lives there is a story that wants to be heard and above all, to express to them that they are not alone and that their teachers can count on us.

There were many beautiful moments shared, but there's one thing I can't erase from my mind: the images of the teamwork, how they worked tirelessly to overcome each of the challenges and dynamics presented. Participation was always on full display; there was enthusiasm and laughter, but there was also the empathy of each of these young people, which was incredible to see how everyone was heading in the same direction.
