Using Hand Auger To Create A Rocket Stove
0 comments
In this review, Corporal demonstrates the versatility of a scotch eye auger by using it to create an improvised rocket stove in the field. He starts by finding a dry and dead pine stump, measuring and marking the center of the stump. He then uses the auger bit to drill a hole in the center of the stump and another hole at an angle to meet the first hole. He also mentions that he used a one inch bit, but next time he would use an inch and a half or two inches for better airflow. He also shows how he used a branch as a t-handle to make the process easier.
He also mentions that this tool can be used for other things like tapping trees, making campsite furniture and ladders.
