The following article is observational study which compared the outcome of dialysis between patients with gout or hyperuricemia who already had CKD stage 5 according the the use of allopurinol or febuxostat. It showed that the hazard ratio for progression to dialysis was less in the febuxostat users than in the allopurinol users.
