It's a beautiful sunflower to decorate the refrigerator. This is the third decoration I've made for the refrigerator with flexible clay. The first was a hamburger, then a delicious ice cream with three flavors and strawberry syrup, and now a flower that will complement the refrigerator decor. It's easy to make, and I'll show you the process.

El primer paso para moldear la flor, es dividir la masa en porciones, luego agregamos pintura a las masas y mezclamos hasta integrar y obtener el color deseado, en este proyecto usaremos los colores, amarillo, verde, dorado y marrón, luego formamos bolas planas y a partir de allí iniciamos el moldeado, haremos varias gotas de color verde que serán las hojas, aplanamos en la parte de abajo y afilamos arriba, con ayuda de la cerámica o una superficie plana alisamos los bordes, con la esteca cortadora pasamos una línea por el centro y marcamos la nervadura.
The first step in shaping the flower is to divide the clay into portions. Then, add paint to the clay and mix until you achieve the desired color. In this project, we'll use yellow, green, gold, and brown. Next, form flat balls and begin shaping them. Make several drops of green clay for the leaves, flattening them on the bottom and sharpening the top. Using a ceramic tool or a flat surface, smooth the edges. With a cutting tool, cut a line down the center to mark the vein.
Usando nuevamente la masa verde moldeamos un cilindro, estiramos la masa en la superficie plana hasta lograr el grosor deseado y aplanamos la parte de abajo y afilamos arriba, luego pegamos las hojas, iniciando desde la base, colocamos pegamento en ambas piezas, presionamos un poco y continuamos colocando las hojas, alternando entre ambos lados del tallo y dejamos secar.
Using the green dough again, we mold a cylinder, stretch the dough on the flat surface until we achieve the desired thickness, flatten the bottom part and taper the top, then glue the leaves, starting from the base, place glue on both pieces, press a little and continue placing the leaves, alternating between both sides of the stem and let it dry.
Avanzamos con los pétalos y ahora utilizaremos la masa de color amarillo, al igual como hicimos con las hojas, moldeamos varios pétalos a partir de una gota y haremos aproximadamente 22 pétalos, los aplanamos en en el centro , afilamos la parte de arriba y damos forma circular a la base.
We move on to the petals and now we will use the yellow colored dough, just as we did with the leaves, we mold several petals from a drop and we will make approximately 22 petals, we flatten them in the center, sharpen the top part and give a circular shape to the base.
Con la masa de color marrón, moldeamos un círculo y pegamos los pétalos en la parte de atrás, al pegarlo hacemos presión y seguimos colocándolos hasta cubrir todo el círculo, luego añadimos otros pétalos detrás para cubrir los espacios vacíos, dejamos secar durante varios minutos y mientras pegamos los pétalos, con ayuda de la esteca puntiaguda hacemos varios orificios en el centro del girasol, estos deben quedar anchos y profundos porque al secar la masa reduce, si los hacemos muy pequeños, al secar la masa no se verán, con la esteca puntiaguda quedan bien porque tiene un grosor adecuado para este tipo de orificios.
Para finalizar unimos el tallo a la flor, verificamos que los pétalos estén bien pegados y en la parte de atrás, colocamos suficiente pegamento tanto a la flor como al tallo, presionamos y dejamos secar durante varios días; el secado es fundamental cuando se hacen proyectos con masa flexible, de un correcto secado depende la durabilidad de los proyectos, también se puede agregar súper brillo o brillo con pegamento para darle más vistosidad al proyecto, terminado el proceso de secado agregamos nuevamente pegamento y colocamos imán o cinta imantada en la parte trasera, con estos sencillos pasos está listo un hermoso girasol de masa flexible para decorar la nevera.
Using the brown clay, shape a circle and glue the petals to the back. Press them down firmly and continue adding petals until the entire circle is covered. Then add more petals behind to fill any gaps. Let it dry for several minutes. While the petals are drying, use the pointed tool to make several holes in the center of the sunflower. These holes should be wide and deep because the clay shrinks as it dries. If the holes are too small, they won't be visible. The pointed tool is the right thickness for this type of hole.
Finally, we attach the stem to the flower, ensuring the petals are securely glued. On the back, we apply a generous amount of glue to both the flower and the stem, press firmly, and leave to dry for several days. Drying is crucial when working with polymer clay; the durability of the project depends on proper drying. You can also add super glitter or glitter glue to enhance the project's appearance. Once the drying process is complete, we apply more glue and attach a magnet or magnetic tape to the back. With these simple steps, a beautiful polymer clay sunflower is ready to decorate your refrigerator.
